    exporting veggy oil

Isn't it about time we looked deeper into becoming an oil export nation?

Seems everyone can find ways to discredit our raw products. However they enjoy using our crushed oils. So why don't we crush before selling. I'm sure we can find markets for the meal alike.

    Just a thought.

We are well on our way. There have been significant expansions of capacity at existing crushers plus two new ones being built at Yorkton.

Anyone know what percent of production will be crushed on the prairies, after all of the expansions are finished?

So what happens to the countries that import our raw product that have facilities to crush do they shut down the crush facility or do they buy raw product else where. Crushing here is the answer for us maybe as long as cost of crushing here is not more than over there.

It all works well crushing our product here until someone puts a phytosanitary trade barrier up like samonella in canola meal and we have a glut of meal that does have some makeup in the value of the canola price itself. Funny how plants close to the US border have this problem too and half of that canola comes from the US and the meal cant be shipped back. Maybe we should halt imports of there canola until they reopen the border to meal.
