Why doesn't Juan White and his donk or board of donkeys just brand our wheat " Canada's wheat best in the world and we less it for less".

If you don't think we have the best wheat , how do we get more for it? Customer must desire the best to be willing pay more. None of us pay more for poor quality, eg. most Chinese made. Branding is one way to get our products into the public's mind. Hope it works. Our incomes are at stake. Molson Canadian beer ads on the Olympics fail to mention prairie farmers get sweet F' all for the best malt barley.

            fjlip,

It is simply amazing how CWB supporters can rob my families farm of hundreds of thousands of dollars... get absolutely nothing for 'designated area' wheat producers in return... but higher prices for US/off shore growers that in turn increases production and devalues our Durum and Hard wheat values.

It is very hard for anyone to argue that the millions of tonnes of wheat and durum that the 'designated area' of the CWB held back through the summer of 1996 and 2008 helped growers here in any way.

The actual market, and 'designated area' grain growers.... individually MUST be responsible for that decision.

If the Canadian government wants to buy stockpiles of wheat and durum; fine. Let them pay fair market value: not force me to hold my grain inventories at no cost to the CWB. If it is my choice to hold wheat... and watch it go from $20/bu to $10/bu... then I am responsible. Same with durum and barley!

If the people of Canada want us to hold these inventories... then they themselves must be forced to buy and pay for the storage!
