Real CWB lovers dont hold grain over

    "wmoebis posted Feb 24, 2010 13:44

Advisers are sooo smart when they have nothing invested. Remember DePutter just got paid for this advise.

Give it away, because it isn't worth much today, although some day it will be. That will be the day when we don't have any.

I would rather have my bins full of $12 durum than empty of $3 durum."

If wmoebis is a pool supporter he MUST sell into his grain into the pool the year he grew it. If not he is cheating his other single desk supporters.
You guys cant have it both ways. You are either communists or capitalists (I am a greedy capitalist by the way).

You either get screwed just as hard as your fellow supporters (every year) or you want out. By wanting to get out of the 2009/10 pool you are "cherry picking" the higher market and YOU are going to delay the return to high prices. And we allhave been told by the board how evil "Cherry Picking" is.
So you should sign up 100% for the "A" series and take your beating every year while congratulating yourself on being EQUAL with all your fellow Borg.
Sorry to pick on you specifically wmoebis but you cant have it both ways (and I notice that Jag is "Cherry Picking" also. I thought REAL CWB lovers would rather date their mom. Shame on you)

(and the CWB has been giving our grain away for years, why is it now offensive to you?)

No, I have just heard so much bullshit over the years from the CWB that the non-pooling advocates are Cherry Picking and stealing the "premium markets" from the pool.
And the CWB supporters have shit on us for just as many years saying we are greedy and the board is looking out for us by keeping the greedy from stealing from ourselves (still makes no sense to me).
Now the long time board supporters are ALMOST admitting the board cant market worth shit and say they want to avoid this years pool by cherry picking next years pool (or the year after).

If any of you CWB supporters do anything other than sell all your accepted production you are hypocrites and should apologize to everyone on this board for all the bullshit you gave us over the years about freedom and vote with us next time? Yeah right.

I dont understand how grainflo program fits into the
all for one and one for all mentality.

I t doesn't cotton. And when you talk to the board supporters that got grainflo, they turn it around and say that's what the open market people want.

Explain that on durum for example. If the grainflo guy gets 100% delivery and the pool guy gets 40% delivery, then, the grainflo gets twice as much for his grain because he made a call at 9 am on a certain date to the cwb. An hour later you were out of luck.

Actually if the board was doing what it ought to they wouldn't be allowing anyone out of their grainflo contracts. They pool I can understand because they changed the game as soon as they only made a 40% acceptance. But gainflo was 100% acceptance.

                I agree.

I was talking to my mp(anderson) the other day about the advances.

Farmers get 40% acceptance of their crop with the option to get out BUT don't forget to repay your advance. Why doesn't the advance ride with the contract. He starts talking about an 18 month window for repayment of advances, so, I start telling him about the 36 month payment plan (for my 08 durum crop) I am forced to offer the cwb. Phone goes silent then he quietly and politely says good bye.

These guys don't get it either. You can't be on these terms with the cwb - 36 months for payment and on 30 days with your farm supplier.

Further, if you repay durum portion of your advance using wheat tonnage you are generating no revenue from wheat either. And the durum is still in the bin = no risk to the advance.

Yet come November all the "farmers" in Regina and Saskatoon as well as those who havn't delivered a single bushel in 10 years will vote for Pro CWB directors. Then those directors will tell the government that it is farmer controlled and the Friends of the CWB will fight for the rights of these "farmers" to vote. Not one of these " Farmers" as delt with the issue that Bucket raises. Why even have these elections? Just think about it. If they raise the minimum to 40 tonnes delivered over TWO years ( works out to 20 acres) to get a ballot, this will wipe out close to 30000 voters. The elections have been a scam from the beginning.

                    vvalk,

Kind of like a vote amongst neighbours to take their other neighbours award winning prize bull to breed their cows.

Well this is a first. A die hard wheat board supporter actually admitting that there are things in this world that shouldn't be put up to a vote. That the concept of majority rule isn't absolute.

I wonder how long it will last.
