I remember it must be getting close to twenty years ago, my neighbor was one of the first believers in direct seeding, and continuous cropping. However, I also remember that same neighbor telling me that as agriculture progresses and seed varieties improve, along with farming technology expect to have blowout prices from time to time, as that is what some businesses are forced to do when a surplus is created. IN fact some businesses then do a production cutback to control this circumstance. Yes folks he was talking about leaving land sit idle from time to time.
