    Canada Sets Gold Standard

Congratulations to all the athletes who showcased their talents at the Vancouver Winter Olympics, what a show!Congratulations to all the volunteers and others involved (including torch runners) who contributed to the success of the Games and instilled a great sense of pride in our country. It was fantastic to see prairie boy, John Montgomery, ignite the passion in all Canadians with his beaming grin and enthusiastic actions. I'm sure his victory unleashed the extra confidence needed to push our athletes to such high levels as the games wound down. Cudos for the hockey teams for triumphing in the end.

May we all be encouraged by the positive emotions of the Winter Olympics as we strive for excellence in our profession of feeding all people. May the world view Canada and its people and products as the best.

Way to go VANOC 2010. I believe.

Two that stood out were the mogul guy Alexander Bila... (don't know the spelling) and the auctioneer Jon Montgomery.

Betcha Ritchie Bros. would like to get a hold of him.

I thought only Bode Miller could make it down a hill in a drunken stupor, but I swear I saw a pitcher of beer on a stick in front of Montgomery's skeleton sled!!!

Is the party going to pay for itself?

Enjoyed the olympics myself. Will be going through olympics withdrawl over the next couple of weeks.

Perhaps a stretch but I have to note a lot of Canada's success was the "Own the Podium" program. Didn't accomplish in terms of total medals but I have to note the record gold medal count.

The closest thing in prairie agriculture is the Canola Council's challenge to achieve 15 MMT (production and markets) by 2015.

You have to still be smiling because of Syd the Kid....

I was really impressed with Joannie Rochette, the girl whose mother passed away a couple of days before she skated to a medal...Proud to be a Canadian with these athletes.

The one that get me is cross country skiing for 50 KM in 2 hours, 5 minutes, 36 1/2 seconds only to come in 5th.....1 1/2 second from a Gold. Yes, 90 seconds between first and 5th. I think triffid tests have more variance.
