    Drying HRS from Bags!

Started yesterday on last two bags of HRS that need to be dried. 1st bag we knew was tough 21.9 but it seems the moisture in grain froze the grain to each kernel. Having a really fun time taking it out of bags but its still OK and will grade a three. But with rest its blended up to a two. Has high protein.
What have we learnt from the harvest from hell. Grain will keep in bags as long as sealed good. Canola dried at 13.9 last week and now this high moisture hrs. Also their is a difference in grain bag quality the chinese ones work good but stretch more don't use on peas.
Grain extractors is another dilemma. Were looking at a new one since with heavy snow in area we are having to really clean up beside the bags. But its taking grain out nice.
Dryer that's also another story automated and computer vs old stand by is great but still has problems.
All crop mentioned above was harvested first three days of November.

I'm told extractors like the Akron are junk for unloading in the snow, since the wheels are on the outside of the bag, and they climb on the snow, unless you can clean right up to the side of the bag. It seems the Loftness extractors are one of the better ones, since they are heavier built and the wheels are inside. Just what I've read on other ag sites.

Yea some times it doesn't pay to be the first to buy something new. Our extractor works great but snow is a problem. Its not the extractor just the two hours cleaning up aground the bag that pssis me off.
Hey but trying to take 21.9 moisture hrs out of a bin would be not really nice either.
