Both Viagra and Pioneer have programs out right now buying Durum from farmers. Had two neighbors sell Close to quarter million bushels to these two companies. Their Durum graded a two with little to no protein. But a decent #2. Liquidating last years production. So could Viagra and Pioneer be using our wonderful CWB and buy back selling into the USA and making dollar on transaction at Canadian farmers loss. HM because this program is gaining traction in our area.

Saskfarmer3,
Movement is better than none... glad someone is working this problem through.
If there is margin... growers are as well enabled & equiped as grain companies... we have trucks...
Now the CWB since Aug 1 will direct buyback without using grainco's... things are changing. Funny why the CWB didn't tell us they changed this!

Tom I agree with you we have trucks and the margins are their for these guys since we are 106 miles to fortuna and they own three semis. Yesterday price was $4.02 Fortuna. But 70 plus Durum for $3.10 is only $217 an acre. Selling direct would get $281 an acre So a loss on 3500 acres of Durum $224,000.00 Thanks CWB for your great job. Job #1 look after our buyers, Job two look after ourselves, Job #3 look after peasants, Oh sorry I mean the farmers whose product we take. I mean sell.
