Why does the CWB market winter wheat?

    Charlie,

I see that Portland Winter wheat 13%px is worth 10 cents/bu more than DNS 13%px

$1.50/bu less ia what the CWB offers me just on the basis alone!

How long must we put up with this stupidity?

You've answered your own question. They don't market winter wheat, they give it away.

it used to be that you could haul most of it right off the combine in the fall, and free up bins. The farmers were happy and the grain buyers were happy because they got it in and out right away. The last couple years the buyers have been taking it in and then it sits for 3 months before they can ship it. That doesn't make them very happy and now they're not taking as much in right away, hence more left in my bin. Now with Sel varieties they want you to store it till Dec or Jan.
