Hey total in east sask at farm less 1/2 inch we were wet but again lots of hype and no substance. How did others do. People from Alberta seem to be saying snowed but blew into the trees nothing really to speak of. But hey it froze in China ****seed area last night maybe some bright spot.

Looks like the big canola acres in central AB missed last nights moisture.
Lots more needed - hopefully someday?

Poured so hard for seven or eight minutes, the sattelite dish broke up. Then a lull. The poured again for another ten minutes. Just poured!! Haven't seen a rain like that for years. Couldn't even see through it. Then quit. Then rained steadily for several hours.
I'm typing from my boat.

Quit bragging Pars Ground white this morning with wet snow but only about half inch on vehicles. Think it rained last July the day after we finished plowing down canola then a little in October. The weather girl is all giggly here because "we're going to miss the storm!" Guess she can suntan this weekend. I remember now why I don't watch the tube.

measured 6/10 from yesterdays showers, had a couple down pours but didn't last all that long(but should be enough to stimulate weed growth) Just on the edge of some heavy cells that probably went up Parsley's way. Very happy with the amount, and looks like we might catch a bit more coming over the boarder this afternoon, another quarter inch would be nice.

The morning before, on Monday, I had a community club meeting, and went out to the car and turned the windshield wipers on...and lo and behold, I could have half filled a five gallon pail with snow!
What dandy calving weather. LOL
I recall in the 70's, on April 7 driving down #9 highway with the half ton, early in the morning, to a bullsale, and driving slightly spinning stuck on the highway; backed up, took another run at it, and breezed through the snowbanks. April 7th! LOL Saskatchewan weather has got to be the most exciting and eventful. LOL Pars

Lots of snow in SE Alberta. Some places over 1 1/2 ft of wet snow. Can hardly drive anywhere. I think the snow stops though north of Nanton along highway 2. Not sure how far north it went on the eastern side of Alberta. Saskfarmer whats wrong with a 1/2 inch of rain anyways?

Here's a 12 hour radar from yesterday(EnvironmentCanada) for the prairie region running from 10am to 10 pm.
http://www.climate.weatheroffice.gc.ca/radar/index_e.html?RadarSite=PNR&sYear=2010&sMonth=4&sDa y=13&sHour=10&sMin=00&sec=00&Duration=12&ImageType =PRECIP_RAIN
Not sure what time zone, however you can change the start time just below the map if you want it to start earlier or later. BTW with checking weather radar, I always use Intellicast, out of the USA, more accurate for our area. There, they also have an accumulative rain fall map, so you can see the totals after the storm. Doesn't cover much if your as far north as #1 highway, however very good for our area.

Got about 2 inches too much. Again this country has not let us down. Creeks running fuller than they did at runoff time. Looking forward to some heat. Hard where I'm sitting to imagine needing rain. I hope you all get what you need. I wish we could get a dryish year for once. Seriously. Should move the farm to humboldt or something. Maybe Kamsack, I hear they've had 10 good years in a row...
Neigbor got stuck on road with semi yesterday, then slid into the ditch. Tractor in one ditch, trailer on the other, and front trailer kinda on the road. Needed a trackhoe, and 2 4wd's to get out. I swear our little corner is an anomoly. Has been too wet for too $%^#@ long.
