Mount Pinatubo's eruption in 1991 in the Philippines was the event that caused mid May seeded wheat crops in 1992 to be green well after 120 days of growth. Phenomenal yields resulted. We do not need another mountain of wheat from a cooler ashy summer.

there is a differance worth mentioning, between 1991 and 2010. In 1991 we were in the midst of a sun cycle peak, in 2010 we're in the midst of a sun cycle lull.

st helens is a normal volcano I believe not going to go dancing along the crater rim myself but still , the real monster is the one lurking under Yellowstone, which by the way is overdue as well.....something like every 600000 years it goes off.

In 1992 my wheat seeded may 7th yielded 32 bushels of 45 lb sparrow crap. I sure do remember that year.

There is an old guy around here that says every year that ends in a "2" freezes. So we should be O.K. this year. This rain we just got was also 90 days after a major hoar frost.

not a word on Reuters grain terminal. It is in international news but nothing on the grain side.

This thing is tiny compared to Mt St Helens

Sorry just practicing my Chinese. Hey if you cant beat them may as well join them. This volcano thing could get serious I am thinking like freewheat that are crops froze that year a bit, it just stayed green and with out roundup and desiccating we would of had crap. Some was desiccated and three days later it froze not nice. Time will tell.

These Iceland volcano ash cloud may contain fluoride gas and is deadly to sheep and cattle and maybe beginning of an ecological disaster.
