OK were less than 2 weeks to go and its decision time.

OK we are now down to the wire. Some areas got rain so have moisture to start, other areas are now way to wet so a delay may happen. But warm weather is on way for most of next week. Were hoping to start mud-ding in next Wednesday. Peas and Durum. But here is the Billion dollar question. What the hell are we going to seed that will make us any reasonable kind of profit. Seems even yesterday Soy rallied sharply but the retarded sister Canola went up pennies. Then their are reports that wheat has two types quality and quantity. But with the CWB if you have real high protein and good quality you get paid no difference (OK pennies difference) than every one else. Then their is flax scandal. Hm not farmer created but we suffer. Then China with their BS disease concerns. Yea we shouldn't be concerned about toys with lead from them though.
Now I see land is still going up in value and good time to get back every quarter that you ever pledged with your lender and renegotiate all your mortgages. If your mortgage is 100000 for 4 quarters you bought a few years ago you paid it down ask for three back. do the appraisal and guess what they will give it back.
Now on equipment sales area all over the map good stuff still brings a premium. But to get the Canadian (protected territory) dealers in line buy from USA its easier than you think. Hey pay back is a bitch. Now on the chemical and fert side. Look to the USA for real prices on generics. Pursuit is off patent.
Now in the next month the crop will be put in the ground some will ps away more than they can afford in a effort to produce a crop that the market doesn't want. Hey its all about hype and it seems the companies dangle the carrot that maybe their is a pot of gold at the end of the crop year. Yea maybe. But every once in 15 years we farmers get a pay day. Hey its a great game.
Enjoy and be safe we lost one the other day in Saskatchewan.

You make some extremely good points, SF3, especially on the use of the border with our dollar floating at par. Say that, and the buy Canadian crowd comes out with statements like, "if you buy a 1000 miles away, expect you're warranty to be serviced a 1000 miles away. What a crock! Many of the farm sales dealerships in ND are closer to border Canadians than our own. On top of that they have no trouble crossing the border with a service vehicle if you ever experience a breakdown.

On the question side - 5000 acres of glyphosate will be planted. It's the least expensive solution. Did you see that sale of high moisture oats for $1.08/bushel?

Didn't see the oats one but sold seed today for 3.00 cleaned. Also can go to USA now and Use grow program for Pursuit. Canadian price $1025.00 US price $690.00 No brain on this one. Come on guys just shop around you'll save thousands.

        An idea for you.

Eye up Walmart. They are expanding into food with a vengenance.

Pre-empt the Chinese filling this market. You slleep? You weep.

Form a company of twenty five or so hard working farmers. ie "Canadian Food Muskateers" Each one concentrating on a different crop/item. Bag 200 gram bags of flax. Quinoia. Amaranth. Durum flour. etc.

Contract to supply Walmart. Work in profit margin. Deadlines. Penalties. Long term vision. All farmers' name on product labels.

Don't re-invent the wheel. Rent facilities. Custom milling and bagging if necessary. Ask for advice. Ask for help. Ask for support. Act as if you really want to make money.

A huge market. Money to be made. And growth potential.

Walmart is very very open to opportunity. Pars
