big drop in Durum acres

There is a big drop in Durum acres in our area this year. In our area it is 86 percent durum compared to 14 percent spring wheat most years. There lots of farmers who have grown nothing but Durum for the last 25 years are cutting way back on the durum

Spring wheat, canola, canary seed, mustard, replacing Durum acres.

Some farmers are not seeding any Durum at all.
