Deer, wild turkeys, black bears, skunks, woodchucks, coyotes. Hawks, turkey vultures, lots of birds. Saw 7 swans flying together last fall, bald eagle earlier last spring. Haven't seen an elk yet this year but there are tracks around.

Deer so tame you can hit them with a stick, one wild turkey, skunks, coyotes, hawks, crows, magpies, robins, squirrels, chipmunks, gophers, moles, moose, elk, racoon, duck eggs and ducks, swallows, pigeons, from a distance..some big white fat birds?, and the scolding feisty purple martens, a slough pump, and mice.

        And a few cutworms.

And frogs. They are incessant. Do you have frog noise?

The air conditioner gets turned on far earlier in our house than it needs to be just because the frogs are so noisy we can't stand to keep the windows open at night.

Only "wild life" I've seen was the neighbor observing
dirt bike tracks through his freshly seeded crop

When you are on your tractors, you may want to tune in:

CBC's Ideas will be broadcasting a series of three on factory farming called "Have Your Meat and Eat it Too" by journalist Jill Eisen.

They air on CBC Radio 1, at 9:04 p.m.

                            May 17th:factory farming/ problems.

May 24 arguments for/ against eating meat.

May 31 alternative ways of raising livestock/consuming meat.

Have to be good to talk me out of a beef tenderloin, but just in case, shall I freeze the cutworms? Pars
