100 ac to the finish line!

Just could not get er done. It looks wet for a while. 98% done - just some seed Goodeve left. First seeded canola took a hit this a.m(frost).
Get your fert in order, it is a shit show out there. Hopefully this rain can get truckers cought up.
The only ones not done or close too are the ones who "had" rent all that extra $60 dirt. Most common sense guys are very close to done. Again why farm more when grains/oilseeds/pulse's are tanking -I just don't get it. Spend an axtra few bucks on what you have, you will be better off by a long shot - no????

Thought the volunteer canolas were dead too a while back and they came through OK maybe patchy. I am 52 percent done with average much higher in the area I believe as I am have a labor shortage. Not trying to take on any more land or farm the whole countryside. Planting was good going as long as you had an extra 200 hp, monster tires, worked ahead and done plenty of harrowing and cultivating wet spots. Made wet lumpy ground in places but in the end the tractor had traction and got the seeds in the ground and should grow with this rain.
She looks to be a tough go for the rest of the crop as not sure how much rain will get in the next few day. Family time now. Anhydrous guys should be caught up now, our horizons did very well and gave the fill when ever wanted.
Sometimes when they wanted as that keeps things going, phone calls to touch base with the dispatcher. One reason I think I get good service is if I am 15 minutes or longer late or early for a fill I call to let them know, they love it. Oh and remember to work safe, fell off the end gate while fueling the tractor and had to work last 2 days with only one arm. Had to open the last 6 inoculant bags with help from my teeth.

Well we got to 70 percent and then the ship hit the fan with rain. Headed north to lake to work on deck. Were what I would say is our area average and yes their are guys still trying to rent more. Are most just nuts, I agree look after what you can handle and pies on the rest. But what I really think is its stupid farmers who look at the neighbors yard and think he is doing good so I have to rent more and get like him. Example neighbor 6 men little more land we have 3. We have mostly owned he rents, we own most of our equipment he leases, we pay 30 an acre he is 50 to 60. Reality I'm at lake relaxing he's trying to hire custom seeders Ah lifes a bitch.
