The Potential Impacts of Bill C-474 - Dave Sippell, CSTA President

Sad that this post didn't catch any discussion. I
guess most farmers are just too busy griping about
the weather and other things to watch a 7 minute
video on an issue that could really affect future
market opportunities. For me the take away
suggested three things - that bio-tech companies
are only interested in sales to primary producers
and returns to shareholders and that their
responsibility ends there. Second, that any
marketing problems these products might create
are a risk that the farmer assumes once he or she
buys the product, and third, the one I find most
offensive, is that we have to make the customer
'take' what we give them regardless of their right to
chose. That's to insure the bio-tech companies
make lots and lots of money of course. In all of this,
risk is down loaded to just one guy - yep, you
guessed it - the guys complaining about the
    weather.
