snappy. youare saying that you have $157 an acre into the crop before inputs and insurance?
Also I am not saying that some sort of payment shouldn't be made through insurance you have paid a premium into. what I am saying is that $100 is way too much and is what make urban taxpayer annoyed especially non ag business owners who do not have all these programs to fall back on

Unavoidable costs, too wet to seed...

      Land rent/payments average = 42

Three apps minimum glyph from airplane (can't spray from ground)= 15 plus 24 application or 39 bucks

Loss of 12 inches of black clay loam, several miles long and 10 feet wide in various runs = who knows?

Filling in erosion channels = 5

      Filling in/fixing ruts = 2

      Leached nutrients = 10

Blowing previously non- existant and extra beaver dams = .50

Broken cultivator frames, cylinders, and chains, hitches, etc. = 2

Chance of it not drying up for next year = priceless

Unavoidable costs, too dry to seed...

      Land 42-55

      Glyphosate 6 maybe

      Erosion channels 0

      Leached nutrient 0

      Ruts 0

      Beaver dams 0

      Broken machinery 0

How do you come up with $157??

VValk that's the point exactly. The non ag-buisiness you speak of......... Whether they want to admit or not, are affected by a weak ag sector, if they ***tion in western canada.
