Wondering how may have tried spraying the RR canola fields with roundup and top dress it with 28-0-0? Have a good stand coming and would it still qualify for unseeded benefit?

Wondering the same thing on oats. Would have to take a closer look at what is coming up but last year after snow on the standing oats I'm sure I have a few seeds growing.

Wouldn't expect much for bushel's but maybe make a little $$$ at it.

I'm past desperation and maybe on to lunacy now.

hey greg,I'm going to try the same-whats a great price on liquid N and S.I sprayed RR canola with .6L by air last wk. I think fields that were heavy harrowed earlier this spring are more even.Looks like canola might be worth going after-I have'nt looked at oat fields yet but wiil now.

You pay when you purchase the seed. There is no TUA anymore.

Go for it...you have to have something growing in these muddy fields to suck the water out for next yr...other wise..it could be worse....

save a pass and mix your roundup with your 28-0-0.

Works great and with the wet weather you shouldn't lose alot of the N.

My neighbor called Monsanto about a week ago and asked if he could save his volunteer RR canola . Monsanto's answer was... Not a chance .. Dont even try it.

What did they say to do? Pay the non-TUA? Who's to say the next spray pass won't take out the volunteers.

He was told RR Volunteer canola is the property of Monsanto and it was his responsibilty to get rid of them.
I think this is complete B.S! But so far its monsanto's game .
Maybe Monsanto will soften their position on this When they see how much canola seed they aren't selling this year ..Maybe let you keep the volunteers for a few bucks an acre .

We tryed saving a volenteer RR crop in the last flood 5 years ago, guess what after spraying and fertilizing and getting a whopping 8bus/ac they showed up in the field while we harvested it. They gave us a Bill for the TUA and several other fees. We dumped out the canola and left it behind it wasnt worth the hassle. Now they say you can pay them $15.00 per acre on volenteer crops or they will sue you if you dont.

So what happens if you spray with glyphos as a pre burn then float on say oats. After harvest time, clean the oats and the canola becomes dockage in your oat crop. Then clean the canola.
Would you have to pay tua on dockage?

As far a Monsanto is concerned, it is thier canola and you cant have it even if it is dockage. If you dont believe me just ask them just dont do it from your home phone #.

Go buy enough seed for one pound an acre.Tell them you spread it out on the field.No one ever said you HAVE to seed 5 pounds an acre did they?

I hear Bayer is playing the same game as monsanto when it comes to volunteers.
Which makes me wonder ... Who has the most control over us ? or who will have the most control over us in the future ? Companies like Bayer and Monsanto or the CWB ?
