    Food a la China

"FDA officials have seized 64 drums of honey imported to the US from China, because it is adulterated with an antibiotic that could cause serious illness or death..."

Wow what was that honey worth? I just wonder how much toxic chemicals are in the dried stuff the wife keeps trying to feed me, brought in suitcase from china. And her parents will come with another 2 big suitcases of the stuff this week.

It's not just food. As manufacturers and global
traders, the Chinese lack scruples and that is part
of their culture when it comes to commerce. I had
some under cupboard light fixtures made in China
complete with GE, CSA and UL stickers on them.
Turned out they were all fake. When one unit
burned out, it nearly caught the house on fire. Also
bought some clothes made in China with a
reputable North American label on them. Also
turned out to be fake. Ended up with contact
dermatitis from the chemical preservatives in the
material. I now try to boycott anything made in
China. At least until they clean up their act.

I am very fussy as to what I buy from China. I will not buy any canned fruit from the companies who have their label on goods from China where these companies have closed down canneries in the USA and Canada.

I will not buy pears or peaches canned for the Co-op labels either.
