After the last rains , you can put a fork in this years canola crop. Three weeks of saturated soil have virtually destroyed our canola crop. premature bolting, nutrient deficiency and generally plant stress. best guess 10 to 15 bus per acre for an area that regularily gets 40 plus. HRS is still hanging in to give a slightly below average crop. HRS may be low protein and low quality depending on the rest of the summer.

Although we may not agree on some things, I am sorry to hear of your crop.
It is not in anyone's best interest to see a fellow farmer have a shitty year.
Mine, well its not in. Got some peas in and a little durum and was in the process of going to flax. But I believe its too late.25%. And thats getting smaller everyday because of the rain.
Central Butte sk had 100 mm rain in less than two hours last night.

If you are looking for a positive for this disaster, it may be the one thing that unites farmers.
It allows to forget about the differences that divide us and find the single thing that will put everyone on the same page for a brief time.
Because at the end of the day everyone wants to put a crop in and enjoy the hard work they put into it. But thats not happening.

spraying my flax yesterday and today, so disappionted in the acres lost. Mostly flat land having many areas with just the slightest dip, flooded out, we're not talking pot holes, just shallow dips and flats that the small flax could not survive. Seeded parallel to the road, so always thought a lot of it was still down in the packer furrows, NOT! Now on top of that I have plenty of sprayer wheel damage, and likely more overlap than is good for the flax. Really sad

I feel for your flax situation. I have two flat
quarters that no water stood in at all and the only
plants that survived are on a small 20 acre hill in
the back corner. So frustrating as flax looks like it
will be one of the few things that pay this year.
Got a call from elevator offering 9.80 for July
delivery. Wish I didn't sell some two months ago
for 8.75
