Hey boarder listening to head of richardsons tell crowd in yorkton were not worried about the crop since 85 is in excellent condition and was seeded first. Then he went on to say farmers seeded canola first all else second. Then its a small area. He must be correct as I sit in sprayer as a Microsoft just frucked up last 4 hours of spraying this big crop. Fricking morons. water truck wasn't as lucky didn't get to main road were dragging it now.

Is is surprising that a company would stop using the July contract a week away from first delivery date and move to November? Given the volatility on the July and inverse, would have thought this would have occurred 2 weeks ago.

When someone gets about a daily price or switch in company policy, I always have to ask if you are pricing today. If you are not pricing, then relax and let the market come to you. Have your targets on basis and flat price. Pull trigger when you are comfortable with either one or both.

SW corner of Manitoba.... Apache sprayer stuck as deep as it can go in canola, crop looks like cr...
In this area some of the early seeded canola has looked really good, but now it's flowering you can see how much stress its under. It's very thin, and looks like it will yield under 20 bu/acre and this is the good stuff, what the later canola will be like is anyones guess! As for other crops, they too could could go the same way as the canola.
Leaving the Apache until the morning to be dug out.

At this point in time its the sprayer operators who see
the horrible reality of the situation.

            We are in uncharted territory.

People say we cry wolf to much;maybe.

            This year,at this point;WWWOOOOLLLFFF!!!!

Cotton you hit the nail on head. Yes we cry wolf maybe to often, The one year I was totally surprised by outcome, last year was a fricking miracle, who harvested half a crop in November. But from the sprayer wow this one ain't pretty. Some fields look not bad but the next 6 are the shits. By hey PS on them all let them believe we have a bumper farmers know better.

It is so true. Only the person spraying knows what the crop is like. My surprises have not been good ones.. Always more drowned out than originally thought.

Agree. Three days of spraying tells me crop is a hell of a mess. 10% water 10% drown out 20% shitty stunted plants. Never made so many ruts in 35 years. No more than half a crop at this point, plus weeds will be in all the thin wet areas! F'ing rain killing our farm!

I am disappointed with my wheat. The shit didn't even turn yellow it just disappeared. We missed the rains this week that we all heard saskfarmer3 got. One 2 incher was just 20 miles south of me and we got a dust settler mind you we had our share previous as area is only 60 percent at the most. And I know lots of farmers here with returned canola. Will hopefully finish wheat spraying today and onto Canola the next, hope it looks as good as from the road. At least the cut worms got drowned out. My positive note.

Used the Historic on Env Canada. That one started and went south of Fort. Yesterday tried to spray did two then at noon heard thunder but it went north of were I was going so filled and moved south just got to field and Wow. Had to go home to get tractor to pull water truck back to highway. Down pours aren't fun this year. Stocked up on hail insurance yesterday.
