    spuds

So, is anyone eating new potatoes yet?

Just like I wouldn't butcher a 20lb weaner for a taste, my Irish side wouldn't allow a potato slaughter to prove a first. To the Irish, potato growing is not gardening.

      Ours rotted before emergence.

Is it too leat to try for some babies in september? I've never tried planting taters in july. Could it work?

First potato yesterday, along with a medley of carrot, beet, spinach, purple onion, spanish onions mixed with butter and fresh dill, and then a green salad with all the fixings.

Bad year for cucumbers. Struggling. Bad year for early radish. Late ones are tender.Grasshoppers are young and green and jumping, and I have trapped 12 moles so far.

Plant potatoes now and they will grow like rascals. Pars

You can plant spuds even in the middle of winter. My mom used to tell me if I didn't wash my ears potatoes were going to start to grow in them. It was -30 outside.
