Wow must not be our year. Beautiful day to spray. Out doing peas and their not bad, seeded April 18 to 24. second Assure and disease. Got to field 4 and half done looked on radar none. So filled up and then checked one more time. Wow a huge storm was coming on strong. It hit so quit and headed north. Their saw one heck of a storm. Water every where trees up rooted signs bent, Three wire line leaning on 45 for half Then phone rang seems the storm i left intensified as I headed north and pounded to ground the nice pea field plus two nice HRS fields. Another 8 have problems and will check tomorrow. Yea the fun continues. At least one thing we juiced hail insurance this year.

It never rains but when it pours is a saying that kind of fits for you this year SK. Nothing like having your resolve tested.

The list of severe weather is getting longer every day. SE Alberta and SW Sask looks scary on the radar right now.

I agree 100%. They now know the seeded acres from crop ins.

              Say it slowly.

              Summer holidays.

Government people including politicians don't give a shit about what is going on down at the farm until election time.

The conservatives, if they don't get their shit together, might have trouble depending on the farmers for their support.

The regular survey process will occur 3 to 4 weeks from now anyway for
release August 20 - not likely StatCan will deviate from their schedule. Some
of the correction in acreage will show up as lower than normal harvested acres
versus seeded. We will have to see how StatsCan deals with unseeded acres.

Come on, who in the hell tells stat Canada the real numbers, be it seeded acres or production numbers.

Crop insurance are most likely true numbers.

I usually hang up on stat Canada. They do threaten jail time when they call back. Always tell them 3 squares a day plus a roof over my head for 3 months does not sound all that bad.

Has been scary south of Swift Current for 2 days now. A lot of damage on some of the provinces nicest looking crops IMO.. Yesterdays storm south of us produced baseball sized hail and not just the odd stone. Vehicles totalled ,houses smashed , and 100% crop loss. We escaped yesterdays storm with only 100% loss on a quarter of lentils. Got hammerred to about 50-70% loss at noon today on all the durum and another 400 lentils. Then too add insult to injury our families pet lab dog was either struck by or in the vicinity of a lighting strike and died just prior to this mornings main event. What a ridiculous year ...

Last night the gods must have been angry because north of us went purple on radar and one south of melville plus north of Canora. Not sure what was in it but wow. Get the hail up to max.

I agree because the market is not really on to whats happening out their. Yea right those vultures no their is going to be one small crop why else every day are we getting bombarded to liquidate oats canola flax peas barley etc. They know it and are trying to steal every single kernel before Aug 20th report. Then by Aug when the report comes out and oh my god wow only that much was seeded they drop back their prices because they successfully took the farmers grain and filled their short term needs.

Ill take baseball size hail as long as it is across the whole farm. It will be better return than the shit crop coming now.

Ado, did you get the tires changed on the sprayer? We have had great results with ours - stagger your wheels - back out full and front in all the way. May be too late though, we changed back already for fungicide and recovery control from damage from your neighbors. They have been very good about it so far - we will see what the chem rep says monday. attain and simplicity - huge problem! Even their wheat is toasted. I am going up in a plane tomrow a.m. to take pics - it's crazy damage all around.

Furrom. what do you mean buy a huge problem with Attain and simplicity? From drift or not being able to get your booms cleaned out for broadleaf crops?
