Oh to be a weather man!!!

Enviro Can calling for 40mills and 60-80k wind, weather network calling for max 10 mills with winds 20-30k. Checking what you say? Granted there is t-storms in the area but come on...

To the west of you in Alberta 30 - 50 mm here and I think we are on the low side for the area. Heard amounts of over 75mm.

so far only a couple tenth's here and no high winds yet. Tom - there were some nasty looking t-storms on the radar last night in that area and north.
It is strange how the weather network gets it's info from enviro can, yet has diff forecasts that are far more accurate on a consistant basis.

Inch and three quarters since yesterday in west central AB - we needed it badly too. Downside is the temperature - has been hovering around 5C for close to 24 hours now with strong wind. Brrrr.

South Flagstaff county, 2 3/4" since supper last night (12th), 1" in first hour. Power went out at about 6:30pm, no record of the wind speed, but it was very windy. Small buildings flipped, bins and augers tipped over, lots of trees broke off or ripped out of ground, some houses and cars hit by falling trees in towns. Heard about a falling tree that hit a fuel tank in a stand, knocked the tank down and the fuel all leaked out in the yard site.
We lost a few shingles off the garage, and had lots of trees broke off. Got off lucky, considering the damage I saw driving around this morning.
Any cereal crops that were headed out are flat, peas leaning good, the blossoms are all stripped off the canola, gonna make it even later....

                  Furrow,

Areas around got over 4 inches in 2 hours. Many trees snapped off... Sedgewick looked like a war zone this afternoon as I drove through. Flooding, Power was off for 12 hours. Bins thrashed around. I am told Hardesty had buildings wrecked as well.

                  Strange how little gets reported...
