Well well well, you just have to love farming in western Canada. On Friday our Beloved CWB (notice send bad news on Friday does work) sent out the initial price for our HRS Durum Barley. Wow is all I can say. 1 No protein will give a farmer $1.66 freight off. Wow can you feel the profit out of this crop. North Dakota price in pit $5.29 Aug and Sept. December $5.60 or $5.48 Canadian and $5.80. So to all the CWB assholes out their Why does the CWB (protector of millers and every one else except the farmers) need to hold back $3.74 a bushel. Remember last year the first rise in grain prices came in June at Farm Progress show week. Can you live on $1.66 all year.

Burbert,
QUESTION;
Do you call the 'market choice' Ontario wheat farmers enjoy... " the Law of the Jungle"?
If this is your definition...
That encouraging and supporting a grower sales system that fosters value added... honest open competition, and responsibility of the individual wheat grower to decide how and when their family should market their wheat...
I would simply call this opportunity... that our fellow Canadians in Ontario enjoy... under the authority of the same CWB Act 'designated area' wheat growers toil... the least western Canadian wheat growers deserve.
It is truly time for change.
Burbert... are you truly being honest with us...???

Marketing Programs
Grain Farmers of Ontario offers 6 marketing programs for producers.
If you are looking for marketing forms, both agent and producer forms are located on the forms page.
Browse through the options below to find what suits your farm best: (click on the option for a full description)
Pooling
Wheat producers can deliver their wheat between June 1st and September 30th to any board appointed agent, terminal or processor and participate in the pooling program.
Forward Price Contract
Producers can lock in a price for wheat at any time during the year, to be delivered during a future delivery period.
Cash Pricing
Wheat producers can deliver their wheat at any time between October 1 and May 31 to any board appointed agent, terminal or processor and receive the closing price on the day the wheat gets reported to the board office.
Resting Orders
Producers can select a price that they would like to contract wheat at and GFO staff will monitor the price and if it reaches the desired price we will write a contract at that price.
Defined Destination Contract
Producers can lock in a price for wheat at any time during the year, to be delivered during a future delivery period to a specific destination.
On-Farm Pick-up
From time to time GFO has opportunities to pick up wheat directly from the farm. In these instances the producer would not have any freight expenses.

The GFO cash wheat bids are so nice and simple. Guaranteed delivery, no freight deductions, no stupid adjustment factors or pool account adjusted screw the farmer basis to deal with. Updated every 15 minutes on the computer, call for exact price.
It is likely the cheaper price on HRSW is because the the CWB still pricing cheaper.
