how to set up sprayer for wheat midge?

Should the nozzles be pointing straight down so the lorsban gets into the bottom of the canopy where it can gas off for 4 days or should a person be using the dual nozzles (1 angled ahead and 1 angled back) trying to hit more of the midge flys when they are around the wheat head?

Anyone mix folicur or other fungicides with lorsban while spraying for wheat midge, and if so did it help?

Pressure and water are the best way to get coverage. Use folicure at a reduced rate. Anything with a strobi in it will delay head development for a couple of days and make it more succetable to midge . Ie tilt or stratego.

If you are in a fusarium area do not use a strobi on the head it will increase fusarium levels. Folicur, Caramba or Proline are safe. You probably won't see a benefit from a fungicide application at this stage for leaf diseases.

The late app for leaf disease was frowned upon in the past but the industry is starting to come around to the idea of an early heading app. After the last couple of years of heavy midge preasure alot of people were kicking in something. Results are as good or even better in some cases than the early flag on wheat. With that said wheat is pretty versatile and will finish a crop with the lower leaves if need be. But do stay away from from strobi at that stage.
