    CWB monopoly works!

    Katoe,

    Fridays CWB price for Durum;

$181/t. Basis $54/t to farm gate.

    $127/t or $3.46/bu for #1CWAD13px.

What more proof does the NFU need than this absurd price... that no grain grower could argue is far far below the cost of production.

And the CWB controls the majority of the global durum trade!

If this does not expose the absurd false theory... that the CWB 'extracts' verifiable premiums...

We grain growers in western Canada all need a brain transplant!!!

Looks like the hog barns will be feeding #1 durum for another year.

By now you should know that arguing with CWB supporters with numbers and logic is no different then banging your head against the wall. Remember this is no different then arguing religion. You believe on faith not logic.

The wheat board is the most successful government program ever. It got started as a way to provide cheap grain for the War and it's been doing so ever since.

Seems to me the pro monopoly crowd has fallen deafly silent when confronted with actual fact on boards offensive lack of performance. Come on guys, where are the Agstar, stubblepumper, Vader, Burpfart, Mustardman et.al types now with all their math and theory to show us we can't survive without the Chronic Wasting Board. Could it be that a cloud is being lifted and heads are being removed from their backsides. Next spring could very well be the first time in 102 years that wheat, durum or barley will not be seeded on this farm. Unfortunately, this will not solve the problems or styfling effects that the CWB has created for the ENTIRE grain industry but perhaps in some small way send a message that change is long overdue!

With so many farmers so willing to continue, at any price, to provide the pig, which is the CWB, with the tonnes it needs, I don't see how but a very, very few farmers could argue that durum is far, far below the cost of production.

They are now even rushing to deliver durum into plastic terminal condos, and praising to pay for the opportunity.

I thought lobotomy was out of fashion. Apparently, it is not.

Farmers have been getting screwed far longer and far worse by the board than they ever have been by the private trade. But for those with the blinders on all they see is the fairy tale about those 'evil multinationals'.

Most of the blame rests on the shoulders of the present Conservative gov't. PM Harper said he would address this issue years ago and absolutely nothing has been to date. I have withheld all donations to this party for the last couple of years and always gave them the reasons why I am doing so. I believe every taxpayer in this country should be fully aware of the federal funds put into farming via crop disasters, crop insurance, ag stability, etc. when alot of these funds could have been replaced by the marketplace. I'm sure many Canadians are not aware or could believe that this form of dictatorship is still alive and doing well in Canada!

And the conduct of flax growers also proves that they need brain transplants for allowing the Flax Council; grain trade; and seed industry to dictate the first steps ofeffective loss of farm saved seed for yet another crop.

I just checked the AWB price down under...

                          UP $10/t overnight...Aug 2/10 to $286/t.

I checked the CWB... $181/t port position. Price is NOT increasing.

Highwayman, the pro board supporters, the cwb board of directors, and the nfu, when it comes to figuring out the value of their farm's wheat all have the same capabilites and do math the same as "Jethro" did math on the Beverly Hillbilly's.
