    AgriInvest running late also

Just got my 08 deposit confirmation and withdrawal form. On the form it states if you wanted to withdraw funds it will likely take 45 days to get a check. Wow this is our money already in our names and it takes 45 days to receive a check after you request a withdrawal. Called them to see when 09 deposit info will be out so we can make our 09 deposit and they said started 2 weeks ago, I asked when they will be done sending the 09 deposit letters, they could not and or would not tell me. At least we will be dealing with our financial institutions next time. Hopefully smarten the program up.

How much interest did they pay you on the year late program deivery, I seem to remember it was a threat of a 20 percent penalty if you were late with your agristability fee. ( I already know the answer)

Yeah and some of you think agristability is going to cover the flood losses, HA HA HA. Just give us a program a set amount of dollars for a premium 200 to 250 an acre done up at the end of fall every year it's done over get on with next year. Conservatives were screaming mad that the liberals weren't going to scrap the program and here they made it worse penalties deadlines on the farmer side but no accountability on the other side, thank goodness for the Ontario farmers they are the ones bucking this bullshit and will likely decide the government next time around not like the blind out here that just give their votes away.

            Wade,

Check again... ARE YOU SURE it isn't 2008?

Only ones in Alberta I have seen are 2008... asking for matching deposits.

2009 personals are starting to go out however there is a huge delay in alberta corporate 2008's as the info was extremly slow in being sent from afsc to the program. I have been unable to get a straight answer from anyone as to why. We have not received our 2008.

Anyone shop around for interest rates for agriinvest accounts at banks? The ones I've heard of are a joke - 0.15% CIBC, 0.75% ATB, still need to check RBC and Servus CU. This program is an absolute gravy train for these guys now that accounts have to be held with them.

Good point Rook, just checked the local credit union and basically all you get is another checking account and almost 0 interest. Something needs to be done about this, we must at least be able to invest into no penalty terms.
In my opinion if the government could set us all up with something like self directed tax free savings account for farmers agri invest would be such a huge benefit.
