    Whats your Target price (Canola)

Thinking very hard about selling some canola for off the combine Sept delivery.
Best price in Davidson is Viterra at $10.07 bu. others are at $9.95 might take the dime hit just to get some tough loads mixed around.
Thinking 1/3 of expected production or about 10 bu. acre

    Factors to Consider
    1) space, I loath storing canola.
    2) Cash flow. Must pay for some Fert booked last week.
    3) USDA report out on Thursday 12th. What if theres a pile of beans to come out? Drops all oilseeds
    4) Sold lots of canola at less than $10
5)Kostal has very good reasons in his report, and thats what I'm paying him for.

What if I store it until Jan to get $10

    Thoughts please??

SOY are turning dry in south USA. Their in critical time period. ]
Canadian production will be bad BAd BAd as when the real numbers come out will be one hell of a surprise. Europe has huge problem with ****seed. Ukraine etc.
I want 11 plus to crusher but if the wreck that I think is out their comes to be will re-evaluate.

I was feeling pretty good about Canola until I noticed over the last couple days our Canola is loaded with Alternaria. Makes pods shell out or fall off. Is this a problem in other areas?

Is it in the invigor, that is where mine is roundup and clearfield seem to be fine. starting to give up on the liberty, bugs like them more, disease and this year half the stand my clearfield is, although thats not saying much.

We have come to the conclusion that Liberty use to get you their but not any more. Roundups are going to crush them in yield this year. More disease, more weed pressure, more cost etc etc.

wow sf, thats is a big turn around from a few years ago - "Liberty was the only way to go and nothing else would touch it". lol
R/R hybreds have come a long way we have seen this for a few years now. Still some very good liberty feilds but no longer the king.

10 bucks for canola will be here until we have a frost. If early canola will go up if late it will go down. Never seen so much canola and lentils as this year in the south. If the crop comes off they will have enough to make it till next years huge crop.

                  Interesting question.

I suspect most farmers follow money flows from open market crops fairly carefully - you deliver and if not paid quickly, start to worry.

CWB crops are not a payment for delivery as such but rather a flow of money over the whole. There is the initial payment but after that it is the schedule of approved adjustments, interim payments and finals. Some of the cheques may be small/forgotten about. Other than that, have no explanation.

Permit books could fulfill an identifiction requirement for those needing an ID in ag (stocks/trades/programs/shell companies/) yet avoiding an identity trail. Pars

I would guess they are low value checks like a few dollars for storage ect...

Black spots on the pods stems and leaves. and we have both Invigor and RR and its showing up in both. Canola that's dropping leaves are the worst so I expect it will be something that more guys will be noticing in the next few weeks. I thought it was tricky to pick swathing timing before? This is going to be the next level of challenging.

I'd let it all go at $12. priced 25% Aug4th, a.m. @ $10.47, basis getting wider, crush margines getting bigger since then. Not realy off the combine, but a good price just the same.

If they were storage credits, I think that credit would be included with the PPO program and entwined with other monies. I have never been paid storage when in the pool and I've never got a cheque for storage separate from any calculation involved with a PPO or IP program.
