Wow! When was it seeded - March?
It seems hard to believe that you can have big, big yields and still be combining already in the second week of August? Manitoba must be the promised land!

Lots, and I mean the majority, of the swaths are thin from the flooding damage in MB. No 30 bushel yields there.
Lots of ww harvested or coming off when we were driving through. ND/MN wheat harvest in full swing. Crops looked good considering the conditions they had.

Derek,
I find that amazing, when was it seeded?, variety?, how long has it been swathed?
I just can't think of a year that we could ever do everything right, have mother nature fully cooperate and be combining a 60 bushel crop by August 12th!

invigor 5770, seeded april 20-21, swathed all last week of july. the heat and wind on sunday monday really dried out the swath the canola was bone dry
the lower yielding was seeded in straw cover on poor drainage, looked like crap all summer, to much rain, thin stand with weeds taking over. the other canola was all on naturally drained land, were the stubble was burnt its awesome. where there's stubble it was good but not great.
dropping all the straw this year. the dark ground always does better.
there's a hell of a lot more 20-30 out there then 50-60
