    Jesus christ, you are thick!!!!!

Fran just gave you net price comparisons and you still can't get it.

Canola in the states or canada are within pennies per bushel every day.

If you are that stupid maybe you shouldn't be farming.

"Canola in the states or canada are within pennies per bushel every day."

And there's no reason, other than the CWB, why it should be any different for wheat.

Seeing as how the CWB isn't undercutting anyone in the US market I can see why the elevator prices are higher, but how do you know for sure that maybe that elevator is in need of grain and is paying a premium for it?

Also what are the discounts for protein levels or grade? I am sure there are deductions for this off the "cash price."

For Canola, they just set the price based off the U.S. soybean price.

Your so called open market for Canola is costing you money hence the price equalization.

My canola, and many others, is going to put 3x more net money in my pocket than HRSW again - as always. These guys just did a direct comparison pit to pit pricing and you stray off like every other borg supporter when facts are in your face. South Texas??? WTF has that to do with our wht market? That is like saying a donkey got traded for $100 bucks But your cow got $500 so be happy - When everyone else is getting $750 for their cows.

I assume you're talking about this friday's price at Berthold. Well then let's compare it to the MGEX/DTN average price to see.

            http://www.mgex.com/history/historical_new.cfm

For this past friday September 10,2010 the average cash price of the 362 elevators surveyed for hard red spring came in at $6.83 USD factor in the .96 dollar and that works out to $7.11 canadian for what would be the equivalent of our 13.5% protein spring wheat. Being that this is an "average" that means some elevators were offering more and some were offering less. So no it doesn't really look like they were offering much of if any premium. And so what if they were, that would in no way invalidate the price.

cchurch said, "Seeing as how the CWB isn't undercutting anyone in the US market..."

            And you know this how?

cchurch said,"...I can see why the elevator prices are higher"

So then if the CWB were undercutting US players our prices would be the same? Is that what you're saying?

church said, "Also what are the discounts for protein levels or grade"

I'm glad you brought that up, it is well known that US elevators are far more forgiving on these things than the CWB. It is one more way the board is costing us money. The farmers in the US also are allowed access to higher yielding varieties than we are.

cchurch said, "Your so called open market for Canola is costing you money hence the price equalization"

When you say "so called open market for canola" are you saying that it's not an open market? It sure as heck looks and behaves like an open market. Please explain then how it's not.

              Tipsy,

The Conservatives tried to ammend the election system... ever so moderately...

And Goodale shot that apart. The CWB had made many of the suggestions which were to be implemented.

This farce of a system lands squarely in the lap of Goodale. He made it... protected it... and is attempting to make the CWB Directors even less accountable to the Legislation.

The CWB is not a commercial business.

The CWB IS 100% a result of the CWB Act... and according to the CWB itself would be gone in a mili-second... IF the CWB Act were revolked.

              What does this tell us?

The CWB is not commercially responsible... does not work for farmers who commercially grow the grain it markets... it is there for food security and to control domestic feed grain prices. Just like the Russian system.

Goodale is the Left wing radical... Stewart Wells does not hold a candle to him!!!

                The cwb isn't undercuting anyone?

Really, taking fusarium infested feed wheat and blending it with my number one. Paying their beloved manitoba boys a premium to a two from a feed.

While others wait for an interim.

No undercutting - just vote buying for those with sons/daughters working at a government run socialist organization.

I don't disagree with any of the things you pointed out. Yes there is lots wrong with the cwb, African/Indian reserve/banana republic type election's that was forced on 12-13 years ago. That was then, now is now.
When the conservatives took over from the reform party one of their party policies was cwb reform. Btw a policy that a majority of the active producers in western Canada believe in and support.
Now comes the present day problem. When the conservatives got their first minority government, Harper promised election reform in his very first throne (parliament not bathroom) speech. With election reform being agreed upon by the industry including the cwb themselves. Why has this government not brought these reforms forward. Why do they continue to fumble and fail on this cwb issue? Why do they wish to deny western Canadian producers the same rights other Canadians have? Why do they wish to see us handcuffed and shackled? Why do they wish to continue to see your farm, my farm and other farms that want market freedom continue to lose thousands if not 10's of thousand of dollars each and every year? Why why why... The best time for action was 4 years ago the next best time is NOW! And its not happening. That's today's problem.........

Tipsy, Tipsy, your getting real close to negative territory here especially bringing up a real actual important fact that no one wants to accept or allow to be talked about. My "silly" opinion is that they need it to be the topic because with that issue gone, they'd have to actually deal with the demolishing of the cattle, and problems in grain industries. They want fewer farmers so it's all going to plan. What is worse those that support that ridiculous outfit, or those that play us and in those years we paid dearly for it? But on a positive note I see the sun is out, but rain and snow for thursday.

Riders2010 - you make a strong point. Why bring
resolution to an issue when in fact you can milk
support by keeping the status-quo? And you make
another good point. Completing this file would
open the door to dealing with other serious and
maybe unsolvable problems down the road. For
political reasons, I suspect Harper is hoping the gun
registry bill fails, because, after all, if it passed,
what new passionate debate would be left to fill the
void and bring in easy votes? Tipsy, the answer to
your question is simple - Quebec - where Harper
needs seats to get the ever so distant 'majority'. A
move on the CWB would be taken as an assault on
supply management overall - the holy grail of
Quebec agri politics. Too easy, isn't it?
