Looks good to go after tomorrow!

Highs of 21 on weekend could dry out some of the land. Hopefully its a go by then we had just under a inch yesterday and most was that mist. Dryer blew a motor so went north they were doing standing barley just outside of foam lake no not the usual 80 plus probably 45 and short tough sprouted shit.
Tow ropes are in short supply out their most dealers are sold out. Nothing dry harvested in our area. Some Canola off at 12 plus down to 10.9 The 50 from the road on some nice fields is 40 now that farmers are in the 25 from the road is now 15, that's what the guys that harvested are reporting. Peas are sprouted in pod in standing and swath farmers are praying for geese to arrive. Barley sprouted and oats lodging. Where their is a great crop HRS and Durum are lodging. Flax is pouched unless it was seeded early and sprayed already. Late crops all I repeat all had frost. One guys actually whole section is flat by Lipton its really nice seeded with air drill old style bourgault on pea stubble with liquid.
Big Grain dryer heading to Alberta and a second smaller one following behind. We sold our old batch today it had sat for 15 years. Also PTO kits are in tight supply, we sold ours in one call.

My go at an Access TV interview. Audience is mainly urban. Hopefully I got the story right.

Do any of your farm reps listen to you?

I actually agree with your crop reports but for some reason the grainco reps still think there is good yield and quality out there.

Even if you are half right, as a grainco rep, I would be worried about filling future trains.

Even the cwb has woke up. What I find amazing about the board of directors at the cwb is:

        1.they all farm
        2. probably longer than I have,
3.they expected a good quality crop that had been seeded in June.

Obviously experience had taught them nothing.

Charlie good report. As far as what's happening in grain industry is same as 2002 and 2004 with wait and see attitude. Drying durum today have a safe and fun day.

Very good interview Charlie, our urban neighbors need to understand our industry better! You got the story right! Here NW of Edmonton (1-1/2 hr) we are at 20% done (all tough wht 16-18.5%) #2, good crop though 80-95bu. Tired of watching the sky already though. Forcast looks good after today for 2wks? Realize we have much, much to be thankful for; Safe havest, best of luck wishes to all!

Not a hard frost here. Picked a bouquest of flowers this afternoon. I note tha the hot peppers in the garden are touched on the top but not frozen to ground level. Peppers are really really vulnerable to frost. Pars

Hi Charlie, first things first, I think you got a very
good response re: Iphone info. Integrity of the GPS
function depends on where you are to some degree
which will not be an issue in Alberta. I find it to be
more accurate, responsive and up to date than my
Garmin or my factory unit in my pick-up. Having
said that, if you're planning to mount it on your
handlebar, I'd suggest the Garmin instead (more
rugged). And for a cover, I'd recommend an Apple
                  store.
Great interview on AB Primetime - you nailed the
weather - farmer - markets story pure and simple.
Nice shirt, btw. But you looked a little nervous and
fidgety - the interviewer perhaps?!! I would be too!
                  Oowwoohhh......

thanks for the comments on the iPhone.

Right about nervous. Having a camera poked in your face for 5 minutes and
having record everything with no retake does that. There were more pleasant
                    elements that don't require comment.

On the shirt, see below. Nice to have another life outside work.

Charlie, hey a true blue leather-butt, good on you!!!!
Good that Access TV pays attention to us - very few
                      others do.
