On your seeded acreage report you lumped the Seeded Acres Flooded along with your unseeded acres. At the time you filed your seeded acreage report you had X number of acres flooded, now you have x several more acres since spring.
Actually you have to apply for Seeded acres Flooded (no other way to get it). Go online and find the application.
Just a guess but... Send back your unseeded acre payment and cancel that claim, and at the same time apply for seeded acres flooded. Claim lots then don't cash the cheque until all the smoke clears. If you don't claim lots then you can't go back after the Sept 30 deadline.
Might be best to claim every acre not harvested yet, and then return what money you think is appropriate after harvest.
In my opinion, at this time every acre not combined is eligible for the $50 but you must apply. I have worked for Govt all my life, still do, and could have retired 2 yrs ago. So if there is one thing I know.... Get your claim on the books and reduce it when you feel you are safe to do so.

App for $30 Excess Moisture has same columns, local office says these are amendments so not to use "too wet to seed" column. Take best guess at acres lost before July 30. They are doing random acre checks only. These acres will not come out of your CI seeded, insured production guaranteed acres. As far as next year person had no idea how SMF "too wet 2010 acres" would be treated. Talk to MLA and ag minister pleading that a one in a hundred year disaster should not be held against farmers in our CI seeding intensity. We did not intend to fallow.

booboo04, wasn't the unseeded deadline June 25? How would we treat them? As seeded, kind of late to amend seeded. As seeded flooded, kind of cultivated black at this point. Not getting your thought.
On seeded report I was offered the 50 on flooded at that time, but it was made clear that comes out of guarantee. So no brainer, keep as seeded.

I'm in Sask.
As far as I am concerned this post proves how unclear things can get and if you seeded your farm and then cultivated after... Does not matter... Call it seeded then flooded. In fact call everything seeded then flooded, especially if you have crop insurance.
In my case everything seeded, and only loss is due to acres seeded then flooded.
If crop insurance has no way of checking on you because you cultivated then that is their problem not yours. Yes we should have told them it was seeded and you were going to cultivate, but hey... Crop ins would not have had time to check anyway. So what does it matter, you pay a premium and you should get as much as possible.
For me it is easy for crop ins to check my fields. Where I have swaths and 3 foot deep ruts, and they come see the ruts along with every acre seeded, then I will get the maximum possible.

I appreciate your info booboo, but the point is, the 50 dollars is an unseeded acreage claim that means either you could not seed at all, or you seeded it flooded and because of flood could not seed it again before june 20, so that entitles you to the 50 dollars and establishment if you worked the area only which to me is bogus. No way to claim the 50 dollars for unseeded and have the liability for production on those acres. Is that happenning for you and what area are you from, it's important that we all be treated the same. There also was deadlines for establishment I think farmers are paying insurance they should have the option of taking the establishment now we had no way of knowing actual acres on june 20th. Every circumstance is different remember those acres taken and paid establishment there is no premium for those acres either so there are alot of dollars at stake here. The 30 is the deadline for 30 sept. never heard of this 50 deadline at all.

You guys are right the 2010 Excess Moissture Program says $30/ac, and it also says seeded but flooded before July 31st. I got the idea right, but some dates and numbers wrong.
My intent was to make sure we all get as much as posiible out of these progrms. As far as this looking like a handout to some people... What would they do? Some have cut their nose off just to spit their face.

fjlp it makes a big difference in terms of coverage, because if you have areas in your field that the crop is good and you will be overcoverage even with the drowned out areas then it is important that those drowned out areas be entitled to the establishment and the 50 as well as the 30. The areas seeded but are established but not harvestable should be treated the same as the flooded in the spring because it is the same result for the farmer, we should have the option. This would be a way to put more dollars in and it really should be the way it is all the time.

Personally wheat will not make guarentee with all acres flooded out, under water, and quality is feed, so adjustment factor there. Canola green and froze so near zero and might not be saleable. Just hope IF it must be run through combine, it dries before winter or it sounds like one has to harvest in spring.

And so is your help booboo, your intentions were good, If nothing else good to get others thinking about how to handle their own situation.
Something more is gonna have to happen because guys in areas like ourselves we're screwed. This is a disaster needs to be treated as one. Crop lost due to flood needs to be covered and should not hurt crop insurance yields etc.
Wd9, your right if we had a good crop insurance there wouldn't have been a need for the agrivation program or other ad hoc programs, but so many people hated crop insurance that they came up with this administrative nightmare where margins follow the good weather around. People that need the money least get the most. I think it's pretty clear mother nature has shown what is the major factor in income. Agristability = Canada's Agricultural Weather Lottery.
They also should help if we cannot get the machine in the field burn the crop to at least give it a chance to dry in spring.
