I had crop ins out yesterday to let them see that I have deer living on my land and in my crops.
The rules read, that elevators do not have to allow any amount of exreta into thier facility. It may have to be taken home and cleaned before delivery.
Sask wildlife will pay to have it custom cleaned, if detected, however crop ins, who administers wild damage program for them, must see evidence of wildlife BEFORE crop is harvested.
As a safety precaution I had crop ins out to see evidence just incase the sampler at the elevator finds a piece of excreta. I had them look at whole farm even cereals because it is going down and the slim posability of contamination is there and these are wildlife's rules.
If you wait untill it is detected in bin or at elevator it maybe too late and wild life doesn't have to reimburse you.
Suggestion only! If you have deer, give crop ins a call and tell them before you harvest.
