west of the fifth meridian started shaking today

Started barley today. 15.5 moisture so it
was giver... I was a little disappointed
with the yield but it is still good.
after a wet year it always seems the crops
are not as good as you hope. Dry years it
seems the opposite. a little more then
expected. Canola is still two weeks to
combining. lots of swathers going on the
barley. with the forcast those guys will
be going in 4 days on dry stuff.

Canola tested 7.7% by 5pm south of the QuAppelle valley today. Standing Barley was 15% at 1pm.
Our dirt is fairly rolly and firm. Trucks had no probs today, feels good to be doing something! All the best to every one, Lets hope we can get er done.

Up babysitting grain dryer. Took standing barley 18-20% yesterday here west of the second. Stuck a few times, (if you can see water you're way too close,ha ha ha).Yield not so great.Neighbors report canola around 14% sure hope we can catch a break with the weather now. Beutiful morning nice wind blowing and saw the hunter for the first time this fall.

Doing last of durum 14.6 so not having to dry. Today did something I hate to do. Swath Barley and will do same on oats. Only way to dry out the ground. Should get a combine on in 4 to 5 days. In standing oats its mud the whole field. Durum ground will hold a combine but will leave probably 100 acres out of 320. Water running in water run that only has water in April maybe early may. Leave grain cart on high ground by road and drive 1 mile to semi waiting on grid. Yea its really fast.

You can get a semi & truck in the field, all we can get
in is combines and a big tractor on cart. I wouldn't
even think about an auger in this mud. Some fields
guys will have to cart for a couple miles to a good
              road where the semi is.
Good luck, hope the sun shines for a long time, guys
better start doing math on combine days and get
custom combine in while you can.
