It is interesting. Will watch what Agrium does with the grain handling portion of AWB.

Just curious how the shareholders did from the sale of AWB as an investment. You would have to remind me where the money came from to capitalize AWB and from there what physical assets it owns.

Should know better than to ask but the AWB of capitalizing has been talked about for Canada so will be watching this carefully. If you are single desk, you will watch this with trepidation/angst of the final nail in the coffin (perhaps the last) of this organization. A different view would say that the organizational and structural change created value for AWB which could be sold in the market.

mallee - BHP Biliton bid for PCS. We're still up 1 in numbers (Agrium/Viterra) but I think you're ahead on dollar value.

charlie view is here in oz that they will sell the grain handling division to viterra or grain corp.
They want the merchadising arm mostly

Would think with the huge crop in Southern and Eastern australia they would make big money out or storage and handling this year

            thanks malleefarmer

Has been interesting to follow the evolution of the AWB - particularly as applied to its organization structure and financing. It would things around the CWB in Canada will occur by revolution and not evolution.

I should note Agrium (from what I know) has not been involved in grain handling - not likely to have the expertise short term. Could use existing AWB management structure over the short period but the longer term question is why grain handling in only one region of the world. They either need to expand grain handling globally into other markets or sell it.

VITERRA says it is committed to building a $110 million malthouse at Minto in Sydney - a project initiated by ABB Grain before its takeover.

You could say something about Investment that could have happened in Canada if we didn't have a Monopoly hanging over our heads.
