    Grain handling system

Our grain handling system is getting totally bizarre. When to
local Viterra today. Thank goodness it wasn't to haul grain.
The line-up was back on to the highway and as I was leaving
I meets two more B-trains. My guess the wait time will
be two to three hours. I know the wait time from half way
down the driveway can be from one to two hours. At one time,
to the old wooden elevator, I could haul 80 or 90 tonnes
in 10 tonnes lots. Now it is two or three loads/day with
my turn around time , elevator to elevator, about half hour.
Know my trucker is starting to get very owlly, when I say
a load for Viterra. I thing it will not be very long
before truckers start charging wait time. In my case the
wait time charges could be more than the trucking costs.
I think the biggest part of the problem is the 100 car
spot. They want 100 cars, but have to bring in about
50 cars the day the cars arrive. I have been in this
spot many times in the past few year. To sell some grain
you must have a contract. Once you sign, you get put on
hold, then some day when you are busy, you getting the call
for delivery ASAP. One time they told my if not in by
day X, I would be in default. That was most likely
more than a month about the signed delivery date.

Viterra in Kindersley has been up to 6 hrs and truckers are charging wait times back to grower.

Guys without their own transport have been paying for "Wait Time" 2 or 3 years already down here. If your trucker isn't charging he mustn't be much of a business man. Don't think for a moment, that's it's not costing you to sit there, even in your own truck. I'm sure there is still some farmers that think sitting in line is a "social affair".

When these mega terminals were first built, they said they would run 24 hrs. What a joke that is. between the railways and their lust for profits it isn't going to happen. So if you can't store most of your crop, you will pay the price for this efficient system.

I don't understand why you would deliver grain to a place where you have to wait 20-30 minutes or more to unload. Whats up, do ya get a kiss an a hug when ya get your grain receipt?

I don't know whats wrong with these donkeys now days. When I bought grain I scheduled deliveries to avoid this stupidity. If I had a 2500 allocation it would get split out to let's say 10 ish guys, each would have 2 days they could deliver. With 5 buyers it kept the place busy but there were never any really long gross line ups.

Vitra is a poor, poor, poor, excuse fer a grain company. Remember it the old Pool, Agrisnore, Agrisnore Unkitted, then Vitra.
Same old staff, sittin on their hands, nothin to lose they been broke so many times in the past, and are agin headed down the same highway. As fer truckers, kin they get more useless, hard to believe, sittin around smokin and billin yas cause it take to long to load, billin ya in a wait line f#%^&&k that. What a monstrosity us Comedian farmers have now created..........
