Wall Street going to buy your FARM!

One of the biggest names in the financial industry has made a big move into agriculture and farmland.
TIAA-CREF, which provides an array of retirement services in the government and non-profit field, has acquired a controlling interest in Westchester Group, an Illinois-based company known for brokering and managing farmland.
TIAA is no stranger to agriculture. The company says it already has a stake in more than 400 farms in the Americas, Australia and Eastern Europe. Analysts say this latest move gives the firm a strong platform for making additional investments
With One Earth and some of the investment firms buying farm land does this spell the end of Family Farms in Western Canada.
I look at the Genius that one Saskatchewan's outstanding farmer a few years ago, where he sold his land and rented it back along with more. Hm does this not say your working for them. But maybe I am wrong ownership means nothing in land and working and renting is way to go. HA what a crock of BS.
Any farmer who sells out to these guys and doesn't go first to his neighbors is the joke. Back in Europe where we all mostly came from most left for wide open space and ownership of property.
If wall street wants property let them farm. One earths really looks nice from what I saw yesterday. HA.
This land thing is going to heat up Farmers short term gain will be long term pain. Support your neighbor BUY HIM OUT!!!!!!!

Whoa, whoa, whoa, why so negative? This is a GOOD thing if the Man buys all the land, don't you see?

When the Man owns all the land, then all we have to do is work for him - that means no more worries about bad weather, high input costs, low crop prices and the CWB!

No more stress in our lives, no more bills to pay when the bank account has run dry . . . all we have to do is show up for work, put in our hours and then collect our paycheck!

If the seeder, sprayer or combine breaks down or gets stuck or even both of the above, don't worry! Be happy! Cuz really, it's no skin off your nose!

Crop failure? Let the Man worry about it!

Geese eating the crop, trampling it into the ground? No more chasing geese and getting charged for shooting one! Let the Man worry about it!

Yup, just one big owner and we all live a trouble-free, stress-free life working for him and waiting for Payday!

So, what's not to like about THAT?

After all, it worked well for the Soviet Union, didn't it?

They need to buy land here on the poverty plains. That will teach them a lesson. Yes it can hail three years in a row on the same farm.
