    Sweeps vs. Points

Yesterday I posted a pic asking if ya'll could tell the difference between the left and right side.
    Reference thread: http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=190624&posts=14&start=1

    Well, here it is

The right side as you look at it are 4" Nichols points:
ver, we are not looking to do clean till. We only want to fracture the soil and get rid of compaction while leaving as much residue on top as possible.

We are running roughly 9 - 12" deep. You can see them in action in this video:

I don't consider a sweep a sweep unless it is wider than the spacing of the shanks. ie. 16" sweep on 12" spacing. Your Mckay "sweeps" just look like wide points to me. I'm weird that way. LOL

if your working 9-12", where is your seed bed for next year? Won't your fields be softer in the spring if you loosen them up so much this fall? Won't any snow melt or spring rain go straight into the land, as opposed to running off to a dip or slough, you won't even be able to move on the higher land if it's wet and soft?
