    CWB Elections

Is anybody votin, er are ya'll chukin yer ballots? Comedian farmers deserve to be ruled by those they vote fer. Er at least partly ruled by those the vote fer, cause the Feds still appoint their cronies to the board, sos they kin control it. Guess thats why we's called Comedian farmers...........

    Burbert,

Speaking of 'Comedian farmers'... many who should have a vote... can not vote....

Sooo why exactly are we voting on what you MUSt do with your grain?

Comedian farmers... in the 'designated area'... tell you neighbour how to sell their grain... a favourite past time...

Why have we heard no outrage from grain farmers in Russia and Ukraine... when their farmers just lost the opportunity to sell their grain at international prices but required to subsidise their domestic market???

Funny how the US market pays a domestic premium... and the system still works!!!

      Burbert -

Why do you even bother to post. Your wording and "try to be funny" little jabs like "comedian farmer" do nothing to support your lame backwoods arguements.

Ballots should be weighted on contracted CWB tonnes. Then the "real" farmers would have their true say and you and your fellow "comedian farmers" would have to wake up to real world marketing.

Perhaps the important message is to vote. Apathy is not acceptable. Not voting is a vote for the candidate on the exact oppossite opinion from yourself (be it single or market choice).

You put your own number in but a farmer that raises 1,000 acres of wheat and an average price of $250/tonne means a gross review of $250,000 on your farm. I would want some capable of providing strategic direction and good monitoring of an organizations performance if I had this kind of money on the line in world of only one buyer albeit one that claims to look after my interest.

You are right, charliep. Had some calls asking about who to vote for, who stood for what, who would do a good job.

Vote. At the very least, it will be reported that Western farmers were aware there was a CWB election. Pars

Charlie i disagree, the only vote that matters is whether the board continues stealing property. As a board member you can't "do harm" to a corporation.

Excuse me but last I checked there were no open market or get rid of the CWB candidates so if I could vote this time I would lean to not vote in protest as a vote would just be turned by pro boarders that the majority of farmers want the CWB around. I say if you despise the CWB then don't vote. If in this election we could reduce the number of voters that would be a clear indication that farmers want to rid themselves of the CWB. Lets not vote.

By the way I think all the candidates are full of crap with what they say.

A decision not to vote is a vote for single desk.

Even more so, I would be voting to select a candidate that provides strategic direction for a $5 to 7 bln business and likely depending on your farm rotation represents 25 to 50 % of your gross income.

I note that current CWB price signals are causing everyone here to leave 50 cents to a buck a bushel on the table and yet no one wants to take the time to vote or considers not voting a protest. You also complain about rising input. Which one has more impact on your bottom line/profit margins?

                            Charlie,

                            The perfect Goodale revenge.

Make those who should be enfranchised mad so they won't vote... and those communists who largely it is a political religious stand... vote.

Is a banana republic election more valid... if 40 percent of the population who support the dictator; VOTE: and the other 60 percent are smart enough to keep their heads down...

Does the turn out justify the result?

If this were a one person one vote... Canadian election... majority of votes wins... democratically run with local accountability and ballot box... Scrutineers and elections Canada... I would agree with you Charlie.

Goodale designed this CWB election process to favour the single desk... and it does.

Goodale designed the CWB governing legislation to favour the single desk... and it does.

Our family farm has lost far more that 1 million $$$ over the last 15 years... Plus the cost of fighting the CWB injustice...

We are VERY unhappy... because this is not a democratic election... not because we do not like to vote in democratic elections!!!!!!

Not trying to make complicated. Just encouraging farm managers to use their ability to vote (at least in the odd numbered districts).
