    Some one Explain!!

Today at Agribition I had a discussion with CWB and CGC. Both were really enlightening.
    1. Just because I take this years grain and mill then use flower and check the loaf of bread compared to last years and their virtually is no difference in color taste or how high it rises, yet the CGC guy said they use the current system because the millers will not have consistency with our High protein feed. The guys head was shaking so bad I thought he was on acid.
    2. I asked both if they have the best grading system in world why do the Americans use falling numbers to sell grain. They denied this.
    3. The millers in Canada like the current system and it will be here to offer them consistent supply. I said if the millers want really really pretty grain why don't they pay extra for this bs. They said they pay the market price.
So again if world don't care yet in Canada we go to help prop up our millers. I said what the hell will happen when all of us schmucks say ps on HRS and Durum and don't grow any more. They will source out of country and buy from them. I said so screw the canadian farmers then buy shit from Kazakhstan.
But the funny side of the whole day is the CWB new strategy. Hire a very hot woman to work the booth along with usual schmucks.
Eye candy makes farmers a lot calmer.

Oh goody .. Heading there tomorrow will have to waste a few minutes and have them enlighten my 12yo who I have been explaining the workings of the wheatboard to. I am paying him for labor and he is receiving an initial price of 50 buks a month and maybe some more later depending on certain performance factors. He has been wondering if his interim payments and final payments will be enough for him to buy a new ipad or laptop. So far he thinks the deal sucks. Start em young I say !!

Put a blindfold on the twelve year old so he doesn't stand there and stare or he won't learn a damn thing except the old grading system 36A, 36B, 36C, capice? Pars

I was so rattled after talking to CGC guy I think my head was shaking. Then off to the CWB booth and headed home. This Eskimo was tired and it was a perfect day to build a igloo so left.

The one thing I got out of both of the booths is we have Canadian millers that want a perfect product and arent willing to pay more than world price for it.
Notice I say perfect not falling numbers but perfect looking pretty product.
Yea when we all quit growing wheat and durum lets see what the quality and how well it looks coming out of Russia etc.

Oh yea the American farmers are unhappy with growing Wheat either and that's why their switching to corn and soy.
And when you get it to the USA and dump in pit they pick it apart so the posted grade is reduced to exactly what we give you in Canada.
                Its a CWB issue.
                Its a CGC issue.

                  Here is my question.

Where were all the die hard cwb supporters when they could not fill a boat in 16 weeks?

It pretty much shows that there is plenty of people supporting the cwb, but the ones the cwb need are people with the grain.

It is obvious the cwb doesn't have the support of the farmers for their core business - selling grain on behalf of producers. No grain = no business.

The demurrage on that one boat will take alot of despatch days to even out. And by depape's description of despatch, it can't be made up. A complete loss on the execution/planning of a durum sale.

And then take it one step furthur, is the customer happy waiting an extra month for delivery when everyone lives in a "just in time" delivery routine?

SF3, Did you dump a load in the US or hear of this load? So are US millers also guilty of wanting a "perfect" product? Falling number, protein, weathered or visual? If so,I guess we can not win.
If every crop pays better than wheat, farmers will vote with acres seeded!

Not yet having to deal with sick family member, it is taking up most of my time. But going one more time to US before xmas with samples. The CGC and elevators and CWB all say its a poor 3 or feed. If US destination doesnt care like last trip it will go. Sorry CWB supporters but a guy has to do what he has to survive.

Saskfarmer3, just a thought, but for someone that is always so unhappy and feels he is always getting raked by someone or somebody, why would you not just sell your land here, and move to the good ol USA and farm. Your farming problems would be all over, then like the good old fairy tale
                        "He lived happily ever after."

Small guy why not since the CWB and little red riding hood are your fantasy friends. The CWB is screwing us and so are the CGC and guys like you lap it up and believe their BS. Well its been going on for close to 80 years and its getting sick.

It is amazing to hear that we should move somewhere else if we want the freedom to market our own grain....actually, it is kinda sickening.

Saskfarmer3 you would make one hell of a good politician. Completely avoided the question about moving to the USA. My question had nothing to do with Little Red Riding Hood, CWB, or the CGC. Why you would get my vote if you ran for Ag minister some day!!
