Totally vindicates and justifies what Hudye Farms did with 606/Granite.

THere is nothing wrong with this wheat... just as there is nothing wrong with every other wheat variety registered in the US as DNS. The price they acheive proves I am right.

What the CWB and CGC are doing is just belligerent and vindictive.

If a wheat sale spec is not variety specific like Warburtons... then if it is a DNS CERS or CWRS... it mills.

If a certain variety is specified... a premium needs to be paid... then a complaint is legit if not supplied.

When a customer orders CWRS they are guaranteed wheat of certain registered varieties that will be in that class and grade. Non registered varieties can only be graded as feed wheat.

So in a manor of speaking, every sale is variety specific to that class and grade. The CFIA recomends the varieties the CGC liscences and guarantees them the CWB sells them and it farmers responsabiliy to supply them.

I said when the Triffid flax thing happened it would only be time before the same thing happened in wheat and it did. Thankfully it was caught before it hit the customer.

This is nothing new, there have been farmers trying to slip off non reg varieties before. Some get caught some don't I suppose. It is just that Hudye is trying to make a point and I am not going to judge that right or wrong. I am just glad the system works, before more of our markets got wrecked.

If I order a Ford truck I expect it to come with a Ford engine not a Chev engine. Even tho it would make it a better truck.

Feed wheat is feed wheat. Except when the cwb changes the cgc standards.

Are you also saying western canadian wheat doesn't get mixed up with eastern canadian wheat at the eastern port?

You really can't be that naive to think there isn't blending going on with all varieties at the port either on purpose or by accident?

And then consider how short the cwb is of high quality cwrs, it is almost a certainty that eatern, western, and american grain is being blended.

Remember that 400,000 tonnes of american hrs that ended up in canada a few months ago? The cwb wasn't selling it, the grain was just passing through the system.

The cwb has got a real fight that may be pretty hard to defend.

I would encourage you to do a Google search, ask your elevator market rep or phone the CWB to ask your fusarium question. I understand it, but maybe better explained by the ones who admin it.

I do understand the controled blending system, that accidents happen and how they are delt with.

Its feed wheat being blended off. Plain and simple.

The kids that work at the cwb go home and dad's complaining about "fuzz" levels. So they go back to work and magically there is a fusarium program.

If it was fair, the farmers with fusarium would get paid feed wheat price instead of a 2.

But the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
