      Grassy,

I get the feeling you are on a knole... and I am the target...

No one ever promised life would be fair... except the CWB!

Parsley I have to take you up on this one "conservatives who can no longer balance a budget"
YOU MEAN there has EVER BEEN A Conservative Gov't that could????

The OXYMORON of being a Conservative is you do everything in a Big way. You Talk fiscal responsibility but your ACTIONS are just the opposite.

          mussy,

          About 'talking fiscal responsibility'

I am not satisied with the dilution and blending of conservatism that produces IOU's. Not happy at all.

Danny Williams tried. Maggie T. tried. etc. Not perfect, not bad! The overall effect of free markets though, works.

Click on food aid charts below, I thought you'd find them interesting, mussy, listing the World Aid Donors and Receivers:

          http://www.tableausoftware.com/public/gallery/world-aid

          And note it says:

"Most interesting to me is the large discrepancy amongst aid donor countries in the amount of aid given and the % of GNI that aid represents: the US is first in amount, but last in % of GNI."

Tightwads? (GNI is Gross National Income)

          Bullonley.
Hey mussy, what it says to me is that it is ONLY the G8 type countries who actually provide and donate aid!

How much aid does China or Africa or Russia or Mauritius or Iran or Cuba or Peru GIVE to the earthquaked or flooded or tsunamied or Montreal's ice stormed?

          None you say?

          Why?

So, should "giftees" be bashed for giving, no matter the size of the gift?

Beggars' criticism of the the hand that feeds them, a free-market-way hand I might add, is not legitimate nor makes me want to donate!

Would you agree, mussy, that anyone who complains...incl aid organizations, the UN, other countries, or charities, should not get a cent if they complain?

And would you also agree that perhaps they should look at what G8's do 'right'?

Conservatives aim to create wealth, save money, create more. Conservatives invest gains as opposed to tax them. Not perfect, I agree, but the alternative is to be a recipient instead of a donor. I sense you are better at the latter. Pars.

            Mustard,

You DO NOT CUT it at all with the statement that NO Conservative gov. ever balanced a budget.

KING RALPH did. AND KING RALPH set up Honest Eddie Et El to have the $17B in the rainy day fund... that is covering the money Alberta is actually spending...NOT BORROWING... to maintain services in Alberta.

MUSTARDMAN You need to apologize for your unfair and defamatory attack.!.

I'm not on a knole TOM, not even on a knoll. You don't need a position of elevation to see the hypocrisy in your arguments. All the hundreds of hours you and your friends spend attacking the CWB for all the restrictions and wrongs it allegedly imposes on grain producers yet legislation that negatively affects every man, woman and child in this province doesn't concern you because your little buddies sitting in the Leg. in Edmonton back your campaign to overturn the CWB.
So you can spare us all the religious indignation about freedom, liberty and moral wrong doing as you are supporting the very same with your communist Conservative friends.

Grassfarmer is upset when the Alberta government is trampling property rights in Bill 36, but it’s perfectly OK for the CWB to do the same thing.

You can’t even argue a that there is some pseudo public good to the CWB act, unless reducing wheat acres in western Canada is somehow good for the environment or something.

You should probably drop the hypocrisy argument, and just concentrate on the trampling property rights thing instead. More of us would be with you on that one.
