Statscan oats production numbers for 2010 are in reality-too high. The heart of the worlds largest oats growing area was simply too wet to seed and what did get seeded had CRAP yields and quality.Oats knows that it has to run on its own to ration supply. My best educated guess puts oats to peak at around $5.05 sometime in march/2011.

New mathski course is out, based on 2011/12 production year. Oats $1.00 per bu x 100 Bu per ac. = $100.00. Yup thats real Comedian bucks I'm talking. Reality bites don't itski????????

              Burbert.

You say that your oat math is based on 2011-12 production. A SE Sask price is $3.02 for December 2011 delivery which would indicate that a few buyers don't anticipate an over production situation that will drive them to a buck a bushel.

Looking at your company friend's portal it would appear that Vulcan - Brooks December 2011 price is $2.33 - $2.37 if you're interested. Where did you come up with a buck a bushel price?

I suspect that the bins of grain you have on your debt free farm are not filled with oats. Am I correct?
