There is no question that a larger % of single desk supporters will vote compared to those who would prefer choice. Very frustrating considering how much money is at stake. How hard is it to write the number 1 and send in a postage paid envelope?

I wonder if the CWB board of directors can even make much of a difference....they are responsible for the direction of the organization and it is not in the CWB's best interest to give up its power. Where is the CWB more vulnerable? That is where we need to apply the pressure.

What does it mean though? Is it a simple acknowledgment that single desk supporters vastly outnumber those seeking choice or does it imply that those supporting the single desk are just more diligent in achieving their objective?
This seems to rather contradict the usual portrayal of the farmers on either side in this debate where the board supporter is typically made out to be an uninformed, uninvolved, older, small- scale amateur grower versus the anti-board supporter who is typically the tech literate, large scale, modern grain farmer who is more than capable of marketing his own grain and running a multi-million dollar operation.
If the above portrayals are anything like accurate, like you, I don't understand how those who wish change are incapable of marking a ballot paper and sending it in.
Maybe the portrayals are wrong? after all the Hutterites certainly fit the latter profile but are generally board supporters.

As a cynic I may guess that a colony
with 200 potential permit books (and
votes) would get a special deal from the
CWB, the same as seed growers, organic
producers, and who else? Would we know
about the special buybacks for seed
growers and organics if not for Tom and
Parsley?
(oh yes, does anybody else remember a
board supporter ranting about the
impending legal action against seed
growers for taking advantage of them for
exporting seed grain into the US market
that wound up being in the commercial
system?)

There were over 6000ac represented in our permit book... from district one... and not one ballot issued... therefore not one ballot returned.

If others actually followed the CWB Act... and all related operations were combined... there would be one quarter of the permit books and voting actual producers elligable in CWB elections.

So 10 people farm and work growing grain in district one... not one is entitled to vote.

This whole system of CWB votes is a fools game and corrupt... cause the Goodale who set it up meant it to be that way.
