Why do wheat board detractors feed the CWB ?????

So a basic question for you all. All
you guys who detest the wheat bored, why
don't you help me starve 'em? Grow other
grains. Grow wheat for feed, forget malt
barley. Why are we feeding the hand we
detest? We do not have to grow HRS
wheat, do we? If we trim 'em down to say
3 million tonnes, their costs will
increase to the point it won't be
    feasible to operate.

Some of us wheat bored haters talk of
how the little guys support the bored,
and how 20 per cent grow 80 Per cent of
the grain. So lets do it!

    A L R E A D Y.

I will not grow another wheat bored
bushel until they are gone. No not a
    dual market, gone.

Its not rocket science, it is certainly
    not eskimo. Starve the buggars.

After all that is said/complained and bitched about - your right. For one thing this would be a place to share ideas on marketing and not a crying towel.

I have not sold through the board for 3 years now, but if we all do as you said the only thing that would happen is the price of board controled grains would increase to the point that the farmers who sell through the CWB would actually make more money. Local feed markets would be saturated more. We need to export grains. Protests would likely work, but things would sure get hot between some of the neighbours around here anyway.

Hopper I agree. TO a point. Someone help
me. Where is the point at which the
better prices for supporters vs. killing
the entity expressed in tonnes handled?

What about a border run under the
        "freedom" conservative party. We think
that eskimo video went viral. Imagine
500 farmers arrested at the border
hauling their own grain. Under this
        "conservative" government. Minority or
not they dropped the ball by not having
        a confidence vote.

500 farmers in jail. Would not the media
blink? I've got no grain to haul this
year, I think I could spare some time to
        make a scene.

Come on. Are we chicken? Most guys have
semis now, Most with semis hate the
board. The strength in numbers would
turn some heads. Farmer pressure is not
        enough.

HOW ELSE CAN WE GET THE COUNTRIES
        ATTENTION?

Its funny/sad/shameful to know deep down that only
the french farmers have the balls to actually
            accomplish anything.

Or even better, I wonder what grain fed shark meat tastes like. That would make the news for sure.

I tried this a while back when that 30 million bucks
was up for grabs for over charges the railway gave
                or what ever happened.

Somebody wanted another ethanol plant in her
area(what ever happened to you) some people
wanted this.... others wanted that...what ever.

My idea was a pool of money for lawyers.

Before you puke in your mouth like me,trust me i
know but....nothing will ever get done with out
                them.

Our choice is simple,it will only ever be won or lost
in the courts-thats the way it works.

                Cutting production doesn't matter.

                Your votes don't matter.

What you do is start a new voluntary checkoff on
grain sales-call it 10 cents a bushel or whatever.

You put pressure on every organization out there to
                back it.

You find a credible organization with symmetries to
                co-ordinate it.

You pay the pit bull ambulance chasing tonny
merchants of the world a whack of cash to move the
                ball forward.

You do this from a"pool" of cash.(no irony lost)

Or build another stupid ethanol plant.

Good point Cotton, not sure if you are referring to the Quebecers or the ones still in France? Love them or loathe them both have a history of sustaining more people in agriculture and on the land than any other developed, western country I know. They think that land, agriculture and the food supply are hugely important and expect their Governments (representative of their society as a whole) to support their aims whether that be financially, legally or morally.
It is perhaps no coincidence that the Quebecers do not follow the Western Canadian Americanised "tough, independent, "free market"" philosophy. They have seen that it doesn't work, it doesn't sustain people in agriculture.
They are strong believers in working together, using the power of co-operation to achieve their goals.

Absolutely the Quebec farmers don't piss ass around with their politicians that's why they get what they have.

Does anyone sane honestly think that if we told the conservatives get rid of the CWB before the next election or
NO vote, it wouldn't be done asap? Some are in a bit of la la land thinking the country put them into their minority, holy crap without rural West what are they? You guys complaining about this so much are being used, hosed, what ever you want to call it they are laughing right in your faces your giving them a free vote on one issue and allowing them to not have any other policy for flooded areas cattlemen etc.

Yup, I think it's a great idea. Don't grown bored grains. Fill the open market wit bushels and bushels of grain. While us proboarders make some coin wit the CWB coz they'll have to pay us more. Good idea, run wit it boys/girls......

The really sad thing Dilbert, is that you wouldn't get more anyway.

Without the volume to spread all the CWB salaries over, they'd either have to actually sell at a premium, or lay off employees.

All we'll likely accomplish is to drive down the domestic feed price.

Cotton may be on to something, however.

I always find it amusing that you people think it is only small producers that support the cwb.
