THE CWB became a monopoly to keep the prices down in WESTERN Canada.

If we were all all collectively knowledgeable and capable of debate as Tom we would not be pitting CWB supporters agains non CWB supporters and realize that the opportunity cost of the CWB is something we ALL pay!

And for those of you who support the CWB you should be the most diligent in insuring the institutions serves more than the G of C and the grainhandlers of Canada and is actually the most lean mean selling machine in the world.

That's the problem with board supporters, they have a blind faith that the cwb is doing what is best for them.

But remember alot of the board supporters supported the three prairie pools and had that same blind faith in a bunch of snake oil salesmen. Its too bad they like snakeoil salesmen and the cwb people.

And seeing that they are socialists by nature, it everyone else's fault.

The snake oil salesmen at the cwb don'y want some farmers getting ahead.

Their latest farmer to be made an example of is probably Hudye. And they will spend alot of farmer's money doing so. Instead of them sitting down and working out a solution like blending the wheat out and telling hudye not to do it again, they will waste money on legal fees. But good on hudye, it can probably be proven that grain has been comingled at the ports for years and there is no problem with the practice of growing that variety in the west. Not to mention the fact that the cwb blends feed wheat into milling quality cwrs and promotes the activity through the fusarium program.

But blind faith has made alot of bitter farmers over the years. They jump on the bandwagon of every new fad and equipment only to find out they have made no progress.

The similiarities with the pools are quite profound, they continued to endorse candidates that spewed the pool doctrine until they led them all right into the ground.

Problem here is we cannot fix the voting process with the CWB which is so obvioulsy a flawed represntation of the community it is supposed to represent, and the CWB will never fail
they simply subtract more to cover losses and no one every calculates teh "opportunity cost" of not being able to sell 9.00 wheat when the market hit the other day.

All we can hope is eventually the 60% who choose not to be involved realize that 50 cents a bushel on an average of a 40 bushel wheat crop over 25 years is 1/2 a million dollars, and with elevator handling costs well over our US counterparts, added to the average price being under the average Minneapolic price of wheat (much less high protein hard red premium wheat) we can easily assume this "opportunity cost". Added to the fact that the CWB sells your wheat even when would hold no shorts EVER exist to drive the market up... anyway...

The Russians are free, they need to survive on their own merit, the spirit and energy we witnessed is what drive people who need to win, at all costs.

It is the reason why when someone else sells your porduct they do not care about what you need to pay your bills or average your net return on that crop.

If you believe others run your business better than you and care more than you do, and if you believe that institutions and the institutional process and its link to accountability drive efficiency then really, you should endorse the CWB process because that is the process you endorse.

The Russian hockey players is a team driven by a different model.

But the good thing in Canada is our government unlike the Russians or the Ukraine never needs to publically declare an export ban, in Canada the CWB quits selling and we hold the inventory.

It has always pissed me off talking to people lending me money thinking they know more about the potential of my farm than I do. If they were so ****ing intelligent why are they not earning the kind of money my farm does instead of pissing behind a desk.

Same thing applies at the cwb. You talk to the pee-ons at the 800 number and they tell you how they still go home to the farm every weekend. So I ask them if they are paying the bills and the answer is "no". So they really have no skin in the game - it doesn't matter what they sell my grain for. They still get paid.
