      What an awesome thread!LOL

JDgreen boy did you say it well, and
Saskfarmer3. They are scared to let US
market our own grain, scared a dual
market won't work. SCARED of change is
right. Yet they grow other non-boards
for rotation? How is that going? Does
any cwb supporter for real want mustard
to be a monopoly crop? How about
lentils? Canaryseed? If not, why not?
Why not put all grains under the cwb.
Look at what happened with oats. Can you
imagine if we had to deliver oats 25
bushels an acre at a time, for 70 % of
      the potential price?

LET US WHO WANT OUT, OUT!!! Why the
fear? Why is someone not organizing a
border run? I have no grain to sell this
year. But I will say it again. I will be
behind anyone who grows some nuts, gets
a group together of a decent number of
farmers, and run down to the border, and
make the tories squirm on this issue. We
need I think 1000 guys willing to make a
run like this, so it won't go un-
noticed, and get the tories to explain
the jailing of 1000 farmers. Would they
not make a move rather than suffer
      massive embarrassement?

I just wish I were more of a leader
type, or I'd run some ads and get
      something going...

I am still in favor of the right to choose who I want to market my grain. A similar question was asked on this forum and I said . If there was a choose to be in the cwb or not the only way I would participate is if the pooling time peorids were no longer than 6 months, And shorter if possible. Would like to see 3 pools a year. Keep it simple and keep it short. The pool year now has way too much overlap to be cash effective.

            Jag,

The CWB must move to cash prices.

This removes the CWB's ability to hide behind the pools and give away our grain.

Once cash prices are working... it is VERY easy to make a pool of whatever length a grower needs.

To answer your question - scrap the whole thing. There comes a time when a person has to cut the losses.

The fact you just got back from a c2c alumni conference and are asking these questions indicates the cwb is not listening as they were asking these questions in edmonton and calgary a few years back.

Shut it down and move on. If the employees and pro board supporters want to give away grain, start it back up on your dime. You can finance the food needs of various countries, if you have that desire, off your farm and leave the rest of us alone. I certainly won't begrudge you in your noble efforts but I don't want to be a part of it.

Lean and mean, tough and rough, triple x er all, the world is changin, change is good, fetch some water chop some wood. Nobody owes you a thing, everyone kin be a king. Fergot to mention, soon we's gonna get a pension. Comedian farmers are standup guys/gals. They bury them 3' deep in local cemeteries sos they don't miss out on the next handout! All is well that ends well. Keep up the good work Comedians, whinning and snivelling will prevail in the end.........

                  Burbert,

                  Speaking of 'handouts'...

Why do you assume I should pay for your wheat marketing?

Why should you take $$$ from our families bank account to make you... feel like a communist?

ARE you Proud of yourself BurbGTO?

Now that I think about it Pooling with
                    shorter pooling periods would work.

                    52 weeks in a year, 5 business
                    days/week, 210 day, 12 stats/year so 198
                    pools would work for me.

How about a pooled price daily? Oh
wait, that would mean they would
multiply the CWB workforce by at least
                    198.

No, I guess I don't want shorter pools
                    either.

                    Fire em all

                      Ron good point.

If making the pool more like the free market is good, why not just adopt the FREE MARKET???

It make me want to say "Duh."
