There were a few farmers for just me/wheat growers around here a few years ago telling all that would listen how bad the CWB were but they went bankrupt and now I get my BS on the internet.

I see you don't believe in this "revelation" about the CWB - it doesn't get premiums and it does twist or spin the messages about itself.

Just like you didn't believe in the -$3.49 - the result of CWB premiums minus CWB marketing costs. (Don't worry, I'm not waiting for your response to my last question; I realize I'm not going to get one.)

But, if you don't mind, I do have one question:

It is important that the political rhetoric STOP from CWB sources.

THE NFU and CFA can sing all the praises they like about the CWB... fine it is their opinion.

HOWEVER... when the CWB spends MY families hard earned money... on propaganda and 'mistruths' that are deceptive and can not be backed up with reliable results:

I and my community are rightfully offended.

If the CWB works on straightening this mess out... follows their own bylaws... and becomes non-political like they say I should be... then you folks would be justified in your comments.

Until then... you are hypocrites taking my families hard earned blood sweat and tears!!!.

Tom you were asked at a meeting when you were running for director if you would change you oppinion of the CWB if elected and there was proof that the CWB put more money in a producers pocket. You would not answer the question at that time. talk about an open mind.

An Elementary question my dear Watson!

If it put 'more' money in the pocket of the grower who actually produced the value... without infringing on the freedoms and devaluing property of others... I absolutely would support this freedom.

If I take risk; create value; and am responsible for my farms produce and income: then my family/community should be rewarded with 100 percent of the revenue. As should you and yours if you work hard and create prosperity!

My principals have NOT changed... if you are honest... you would admit this Stubblejumper!

Thanks for the comments. I would say we as directors are all accountable to our membership. If your a member please call me and we can discuss your ideas. If not please consider joining sometimes we are limited by imagination, sometimes by dollars.

My personal belief is that with a majority The CPC would change the wheat board act in a second. It's not part of a hidden agenda, they campain on it.
Without a majority we in the west have to rely on the opposition parties.

The Liberals rely on Goodale and Easter for Ag policy. I'd like to be a fly on the wall of one of those caucus meetings.
The Bloc asks Whats in it for Quebec farmers?
The NDP, as socialists are fundamentally opposed to marketing freedom.

Back to the conservatives, The courts are risky even with favorable decisions. and until I have LLP after my name they figure my opinion doesn't count. As others have mentioned maybe they don't have the...... Stomach.

Chairman gus. director accountability to membership, that's fine. But, I can't believe your membership does not expect a better effort going forward in pressing the feds on this cwb issue. I know a lot of producers around the countryside are just like me. Getting more frustrated and feed-up with the lack of effort coming from Ottawa and the 2 groups that we come to rely on for farm leadership. That being the barley and wheat growers organizations at pressing Ottawa to put some effort in to this file and lets start to move forward.

I followed your link but not sure where you were leading me as I didn't see any releases from wht grower commenting on the lack of effort or requesting the feds to move forward. I did see tho where the Canadian Chamber of Commerce has been more proactive than the wht growers in requesting the feds move on the cwb issue. Why would that be chairman Gus?

CPC with a majority would bring change in a second. Well that may be. But that's just ESKIMO TALK. You don't need a majority to bring election reforms forward. You don't need a majority to ask the cwb to grant an export license or a zero cost buy back, could not Harper just direct the cwb to do this? NO organization pushes the feds so they simply and conveniently choose not to do anything!
I was a wht grower member in the past and for no explicable reason I'm not one today. Maybe if I see the barley or wheat growers organization become more proactive in pressing Mr. Harper and company in bringing
cwb reforms forward I would join again. Unless I can be convinced other wise I'll be thinking the executives of these 2 organizations are just conservative lap dogs and puppets...

October 28, 2010: Wheat Growers Call on Gerry Ritz to Restore Impartiality in CWB Director Elections

On Oct 25th I presented to the Finance committee in Ottawa one of 5 asks was for the creation of a voluntary CWB,

Met with 6 MP's from 3 different parties, three guesses on what was discussed? Also met with a NDP fellow from the Arctic, we talked transportation because he is on that committee.

As for the Cons "asking" the CWB to give no cost export licenses. Well they did, and the CWB said NO. See comments above about courts.

All of that being said we do have some members who feel as you do.

We also have a member who actively supports the monopoly??

Question: Would you hammer the only political party that has made the commitment to freedom on the eve of an election? What would be the result?

Again give me a call and ask yourself, what have you done to advance the ball?
