Mustard, dont forget to mention the 25% of 2008 durum production that was withheld from the 08-09 crop year only to be sold for $3/bus less in 09-10. Who do you really think created this ridiculous situation in durum with their useless PRO forcasts. The board has long ago outlived any usefulness it may have had in the durum market but refuses to relinquish its control because once removed they know spring wheat would be soon to follow. With current durum area and production, this market,in my opinion, could function as other special crop markets such as lentils and peas. At 3-4 million acres of both lentils and peas, is anyone screaming for a single desk on these crops. Or maybe farmers are happy to have an open market with price signals that accurately dictate production levels.Someone tell me where in the CWB act that it states that their mandate is to manage/manipulate supply.

I enjoy reading the posts on this site but would think that people are mature enough not to engage in elementary school yard tactics of attacking people for their physical attributes. It is fine if you don't agree with someone's opinion or philosophy but leave the name calling alone.

Actually, Machej's newfound job when he "left" the Board,<p></p>
<p><strong>(ex-CWB salary-taker)</strong></p> prompted me to write this
"it would seem Burnett could rake in the dollars as Official Taster of HRSDonuts Inc. in Hohhot"
My take on it was:
China is embracing western food. There is a CWB office in Bejing.China buys hrsw. Hohhot is a city in China. Robins Donuts used to buy western wheat that had to go through the CWB. Like Machej, Burnett could easily link his experience to international "opportunity"
He'd be able to 'move on' if the weather department was slammed shut.
