A question farmers might want to mull is this:

Will encouraging and increasing particular segments of immigrants, such as Muslims, significantly change agriculture, significantly change our present Canadian culinary culture?

An example is hog barns. Restaurants serving breakfasts specialize in bacon and eggs. Muslims do not eat pork. Period. Pork fat is used in makeup, in shortening, in polishes,...in all kinds of industries such as glue, as are pork bones in dog food, and pork hides in pigskin gloves.

Are you prepared to change your operation to supply cultural food that differs widely from your own backgrounds?

It is ironic that Kosher and Halal foods are so similar , all based on medieval beliefs. Superstition and religion very similar.

As farmers, do you look forwards to developing pork bellies for China, knowing it's their cultural preference, or do you develop lamb in pork free facilities for Muslim tastes?

Other Cultures can impact upon what you grow, what currency you are paid in, and which manufacturing plant is subsidized, and how processing facilities operate(ie killing done in strict ways).
